Well, the game was stupid late - MLB should have moved up the start time by an hour (like it did with game 2) because of the threat of rain. It didn't, and so there was a rain delay and then the game went into extra innings and that meant that the game didn't end until after midnight. Which is a long way of explaining why most of Chicago was late to work this morning.
The air-raid sirens went off when the Cubs clinched it - not the full-on air-raid drill, though, unlike when the White Sox won the pennant in 1959 and everyone thought the Russkies were about to drop the bomb on us. Acts of mayhem and vandalism were kept to a minimum, so luckily we avoided the kind of destruction usually associated with Vancouver losing the Stanley Cup finals. On the whole, I think it registered a 3.7 on the Canuck-o-meter.
