i agree thok. i really did feal that kerry "spoke to us" rather than "read to us".
additionally, i really just don't go for the "ah haha" stuff that bush rolled out this time.
we are told, every day, that we live in serious times. to me, that makes the appeal of "smart ass" retorts a lot less attractive.
not that i hold myself to that standard. but then, i'm not running for president...
