I hear you c.i. and timber - I have been slammed repeatedly without me saying anything - direct, nasty, derogatory insults. And this goes on all the time from certain people and I find it directly one-sided!

That is my last!

timber - one last thing, I have said befor and I'll reinterate it now, I find your actions nothing but honorable, but these direct insults (not from you, let me reinterate that) are dishonorable!

I support Bill in this. These threads are where all kinds of ideas and points of view SHOULD be exchanged -- without censorship. Where "censorship" is needed is on personal attacks and I'm not aware of Bill's guilt in this. Something I do find persistently unpleasant is the attitude that this is Mr. or Ms. Grumpy's second grade class in which you are either RIGHT or WRONG and people with "silly ideas" should be provoked and needled into shutting up.

Tartar, I agree. That's the reason why I stopped responding to some people's posts. c.i.

Funny, I thought you stopped responding because you don't like your pet beliefs being challenged. My bad.

There seems general consensus this squabbling is over ... even if it is not resolved. No one involved is blameless, nor are any solely guilty. Can we agree that this digression has run its course, and return to the subject of replacing Bush The Younger in '04, as I recall. I could be wrong ... its been a while since there has been any mention of it Rolling Eyes

thanks.

I think you have to change your title from moderator to referee. And to the participants. Please do not revert to abuzzitis. Can't we all just get along?

Okay, timber, but you pay your own way to the pub. We're meeting at the Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street in London on March 20, at six PM. Be happy to buy you several. Wink c.i.
