As for being a "huge supporter of the military," how is he any differnt from Bush, Rove, Wolfy, Pipes, etc..who favour military action in all circumstances, but couldn't be bothered to actually serve?

I'd have to agree with you on that last sentence Dys. At the same time, some places, like Texas, don't require gun hunters to wear orange. That's just asking for trouble IMHO.

Did you hear the interview? I did. He spoke of "welfare niggers," "illegal beaners taking american jobs," and how he would like to "pistol whip fairy peacenik protestors." I'm not surprised someone from the far right would approve of such talk. My point on the racist thing is that just because he uses the n-word, doesn't mean he's referring to a certain skin color. He's very much of man of words, and that's one he likes to throw around for shock value.

Its pretty common for some to ascribe general all around reprehensibleness to those who's ideology happens to be markedly different from their own. If not for that propensity among humans, I figure war woulda had a real short chance of becoming part of the human condition.

Oh man, as a non-gun-owner livin' out hyar in Texas ranch country, I know a lot about them hunters. The whole POINT of hunting is being with your buddies and consuming incredible amounts of beer and shootin' something, anythin'. I stay pretty clear of my boundary fences, keep my black and white dog nearby in case he might be mistaken for a skunk. One man I knew came back from a deer-less hunt down near Poteet and admitted he'd shot a neighbor's dog just to get rid of his frustration.
