I do not consider Trump to be a normal conservative. Trump is appealing to beliefs that are racist.

There are a wide range of political beliefs held by Americans.

- Some of these political beliefs can be called "conservative".
- Some of these political beliefs are "racist" beliefs.

Not all conservative beliefs are racist. There are people with conservative political policies that I respect. I have no problem with people who want to reign in spending, cut the size of government or oppose abortion. These are all positions that I disagree with, but there are reasoned arguments for them.

Donald Trump isn't making reasoned arguments for any set of conservative positions. He is using fear and anger to drum up emotional support from a class of white voter who blame minorities for their problems.

If I were a conservative, I would be disavowing Donald Trump.

I am not responsible for Rabel. I have expressed my opinion that much of Trump's ideology is distinctly racist. I don't apologize for that.

It is also my opinion that it is the responsibility of conservatives to distance themselves from Trump. If they don't, than they can't complain when we tar them with Trump. It seems to me that the Conservatives have been playing with the racist ideas to appeal to a part of their base.

Now Trump is their problem. You play with fire, you are going to get burned.

I went and re-read it. In your first post on this thread you rant on about "Open Borders", "Mexican Immigrants", and "permanent underclass" while explaining how certain demographic groups vote for Democrats.

You are right that you didn't mention Trump by name, but I hope you can understand why I might have mistakenly thought you had. Please forgive me.

This type of misunderstanding my explain the reason that Trump is now the standard bearer of the Republican party.

No I don't understand, particularly since I had nothing bad to say about Mexican immigrants and I have repeatedly said I'm not a Trump supporter.

Perhaps you can be forgiven for being so self-absorbed as to not be cognizant of the positions of A2K members with whom you frequently debate. Maybe I'm an exception for knowing that you were a Berner who has crumbled in your support for him on the basis of your sacred notion that any Democrat is better than a Republican.
