along the lines of what polar bear said, lately i've been thinking "why vote?" when it seems like bush is going to win and kerry consistently succeeds in not defending all the lies the republicans are spinning on him. kerry is flat, and it pisses me off that he's not running an effective campaign.

if there were no terror threat bush would have nothing to run on. "careless america" a phrase david halberstam used to describe the current state of this country when it views someone like kerry, who served honorably in vietnam, but somehow, the republican spinners have managed to dishonor his record... cheney got 5 deferments from vietnam, ashcroft got 7. and, bush, well, he diidn't even bother to show up. somehow, they've managed to make themselves appear as the tough guys and kerry a wimp...

in the end all the lemmng voters will follow the swirl of lies and misinformaton and pull the lever for bush-- pathetic.

dys-- We never spar. I love you. I actually felt guilty about that quip to you about Zell. How can I spar when my mildest quip is guilt-ridden?

Ahahahahahah. Kerry was out over the weekend shooting a pistol gripped over and under shotgun. One of the very guns he signed legislation to ban. You see, he may actually know how to shoot, but he doesn't know (or care) what bills he's signing, or what they mean. Millions of "pistol gripped" Browning A5's have been produced since 1903, including my .16 guage. If you tried to shoot this like a pistol, and you're not Ahnold, it's gonna about take your arm off.

Here he is with a gun very similar to my A-5:

Here he is with an over and under:

Both would have been banned by legislation he signed, simply due to the pistol grip.

Someone needs to "get a grip".

Kerry co-sponsored S. 1431 last year ("The Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2003) which would have banned a "semiautomatic shotgun that has a pistol grip."

The only questions pertinent for one's vote should be:

1) Are you better off than you were four years ago?

2) And more importantly, do you REALLY want four more years of Bush?

In this SPECIFIC case of John Kerry handling a gun that he wanted banned as a demonostration of his hypocracy he should retire. How you translate that into an all encompassing idea.
