So because it's made of wood and has vertical or horizontal peices it's a "christian podium"? Wow. Kind of reaching on that one.

not only the pulpit with the cross, but also, in Bush's speech, he used words like "everlastingly", etc....mimicing the language in songs from Christian hymnals. They're all out there, waiting, layin low. They know they can't show their true faces. They won the election for Clinton in 92 and they are trying hard not to do it again. It's amazing..........I mean you've gotta hand it to Rove on this one. How to keep raving lunatics from ranting on and on is no small task. My fantasy is that he's back stage, handing out little tasty snacks in order to maintain discilple.

This kind of subliminal marketing is all par for the course, McGentrix. It reads right into the political context of the Republican party, the neoconservative movement that took it far to the right, and it's pathetic attempts to show moderation in the 11th hour.

It is the lack of seeing the obvious that the GOP desperately hopes for in getting the swingvoters, for they, unlike the christian conservatives and the religious zealots, are more moderate, independent and indecisive regarding either party.

Political science 101. You should study up a bit.

I finally got the new avatar small enough to upload. This should have been included with my initial posting on this thread.

Like I said, I coulda sworn I saw a couple of horns sticking out of Zell's head.

Scary...

The easiest way to do this in paint Image/attributes radio button on pixels, go to stretch/skew reduce by the percentage needed to fit.

Yes it is scary. Miller must indeed look like the Devil incarnate to the Dems already scared out of their wits by the prospects of another 4 years of GW.

Please. Miller helped the Democrats more than he hurt them with his speech.

Can you imagine the Democratic party distancing itself from Obama? No way. But that's what the Republicans did to their keynote speaker...

Sorry, it's just seeing someone as yourself, who has absolutely ZERO credibility, discussing ANYONE's credibility is funny to me. I was trying to be polite by not pointing that out.

I back up all my opinions with references. Simply stating someone has no credibilty without providing proof merely besmirches your own credibility. At least now the majority of people who read this who didn't understand your nonsensical statement now understand how off-target it was.

here you go, more fuel for the fire.

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/03/opinion/03krugman.html?hp

Here's an excerpt:

Quote:
Barack Obama, who gave the Democratic keynote address, delivered a message of uplift and hope. Zell Miller, who gave the Republican keynote, declared that political opposition is treason: "Now, at the same time young Americans are dying in the sands of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, our nation is being torn apart and made weaker because of the Democrats' manic obsession to bring down our commander in chief." And the crowd roared its approval.

and:

Quote:
But the vitriol also reflects the fact that many of the people at that convention, for all their flag-waving, hate America. They want a controlled, monolithic society; they fear and loathe our nation's freedom, diversity and complexity.

and:

Quote:
The party made sure to put social moderates like Rudy Giuliani in front of the cameras. But in private events, the story was different. For example, Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas told Republicans that we are in a "culture war" and urged a reduction in the separation of church and state.

Mr. Bush, it's now clear, intends to run a campaign based on fear. And for me, at least, it's working: thinking about what these people will do if they solidify their grip on power makes me very, very afraid.

Yes, Mr. Krugman, and so am I. With very good reason. Be afraid and vote.

well, well...

sean hannity's faithful ol' dawg, zell, sure did make a big splash.

what a set up. in his righteous indignation, "shrilling" what all of them think. but as usual don't have "the moral courage" to take personal responsibility for saying. they've done the same with keyes. sbvb, etc.

amazing. if any of these guys ever stopped drenching themselves in their own testoserone long enough to watch star trek, tos, they'd realize that captain george tiberious bush and the "vulcan" (Laughing ) , mr. cheney have suited them up in red shirts for the mission.

on star trek, the guys in the red shirts are always "expendible"

"live long an' prosper, y'all". Cool

When Zell was giving Bush Sr. the same treatment 12 years ago, did you hold him in the same esteem or was he just one of the right-minded people doing what they thought best?
