I got gas this morning...no problem, but by noontime there wasn't a drop left in St Lucie.

Hi, Occum...so yall are on the 4th floor of a condo (a steel and concrete building)? How far from the water? And with windows facing east or west?
I'm trying to think about what I would do if I were there. I reckon that, if I hadn't left by yesterday morning and the building was pretty substantial, I would stay.
I've still got a crummy map of FL, so I'm having trouble figuring out who is where. Good luck to yall' -rjb-

Those first four words... reminded me of an old relative. Very Happy

Hope that you and O'Bill and all the rest of the Florida contingent stay safe wherever you've chosen to be. These storms are so unpredictable... perhaps Frances will decide to veer some new direction. I did hear she's settled down a little. That was good news.

We'll be riding out the storm with you vicariously... I'm feeling a little nervous myself and thinking of buying a couple of flashlights and some batteries... just for solidarity's sake.

Make sure you're up high kids.

Quote:
Already a Category 4 storm with 225 kilometres per hour winds and the potential to push ashore waves up to 4.5 metres high, Frances could make itself felt in the state by midmorning Friday.

that's over 15 feet!

Panzade is the guy right in the crosshairs... a little north of the big lake Okeechobee. I'm do east on the water... but on the 4rth floor behind serious storm shutters... here:

Looking forward to quite a show.

Stop bustin on me or I'm tellin.

It just occurred to me; if we get a 15 foot storm surge, my car is toast... but I think west, flooding is just as much a danger.

G'night? Isn't this a little early? Anyway, sweet dreams, Letty and all. Be safe!

O'Bill -- That looks like a nice strong building... and a gorgeous view. I'll quit worrying so much about you and concentrate on Panzade. I'd think that Lake Okeechobee would slow down the winds, but what do I know? About earthquakes, I could tell you. About hurricanes... not so much.

My Daytona friends' daughter lives in Melbourne and as of 10 this morning, she was planning to ride it out. . . I hope that was a wise decision.

My good thoughts and hopes go out to all of you over there.
