Just checkin in...been working since dawn trying to button up two construction sites. Taking a breather. No gas anywhere in St. Lucie County and reports of multiple accidents in Home Depot parking lots...typical. West Palm is even crazier. Right now O'Bill and I are lookin Frances square in the eye. Latest prediction is landfall at Jupiter Inlet which is halfway between us. Mamma and kids set out at 2 pm for Panama City but have only traveled 60 miles in 3 hours.

Jupiter, eh? I could ride my bike there. Be careful dude. I heard it slowed to 10 miles an hour... and North of the eye is more dangerous than south is.

Nitynite. I don't know if I said this here before, but my internet connection is a satellite dish, so don't anybody worry if you don't hear from me for a while. I expect to lose it at some point.

Ditto here. I'm on cable and don't expect any problems til about 12 noon Friday EST when the winds ae expected to reach into the 70's. I have dug up my boogie board as tomorrow I expect some wild rides. Also am getting ready to hit the liquor store since all liquor sales will stop at 8PM. Why they torture me like this I don't know.

Just heard that after Charley, Disney Corp has paid out 2.7 Million to employees that were devestated by the storm. Wow! That gives a warm fuzzy for ol' Mickey and Minnie!

After Fran, many of the companies here assisted employees with getting back on their feet, finding housing, and that kind of thing. I hope those that need it in Florida are getting / will be getting the same compassion from their corporate employers. It does build loyalty, so if they can...

It pays to have relatives. Jeb has asked for and been granted disaster relief from his bro.

Rae was going to call Letty just before her crew got on the road. I'm hoping Rae will call me tonight and let me know they've arrived safely - and tell me how Letty's doing.

I just saw that on CNN or one of those other 'big' networks.
She knows anytime is o.k.
I'm taking the phone to bed with me.

I'm okay, kids. Leaving tomorrow just to get away from the intercostal and the ocean.

Of course, I must leave with a little melodrama......................................

Still leaving with a poem.

Just leaving..

Be careful, all you Floridians. I'm thinking about you, if that helps. I'd pray, but i think that would just piss off the guy upstairs Wink

I have had friends from Daytona visiting this week. They left this morning heading to the Panhandle to be within striking distance of home...when they can get there. This one really looks brutal.
