Hamburglar! Saw the Canuck linemen yesterday. What a sweet sight for sore eyes. Palm Beach County still suffering terribly with power out. Now we're getting ready for Ivan but it's much harder to do since the stores are out of a lot of staples.

Dubya was handing out ice a couple of days ago in Ft Pierce. When it was my turn I just had to ask him if it really took two passes to land that trainer.

Gosh, Panz, you had me worried to death! So glad all made it through okay.

Not sure I could take 15 hours of Monopoly. And, I KNOW I couldn't take 15 hours of Risk. Youngest Cub usually has us all wiped out and is Emperor of the World within an hour.

I don't guess the mail is running... Would send a care package if it is. Let me know.

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/huricane/history/whfla.htm

Hurricanes are a fact of life in Florida. Between June, and the end of November, hurricanes are a possibility. Every year, in June, the newspapers print a chart of hurricane evacuation areas, as well as hints for coping with the massive storms.

Here is a copy of the maps that we receive. Whether or not you need to evacuate has to do with how near you are to the water. As you can see, there are parameters, and different levels of mandated evacuations:

http://www2.sptimes.com/pdfs/hurricanemaps/2004/hurr-map-hill.pdf

Actually, where I live, until this year, no major hurricane passed since 1950. This year will probably go down in history as a stinker!

I don't think Fedral ventures outside Politics, but he made it through alright. I think that's everyone.

Glad to see everybody back - for now.
Is it time for more people to batten down?
I notice that the Keys are already under an evacuation order for Ivan.

Where's that woos O'Bill?
Why I gotta be a woos? Interesting spelling by the way... that's how my favorite Russian pronounced it Laughing . Glad to see you made it through. As for where; no power was getting on my nerves, so I came to Milwaukee. Plenty safe from Ivan here. That one looks like a beast, dude. Ya'll be careful of that one. Especially you Phoenix. Looks like you might be right in the path of the business end of that thing! I'm staying here till it's gone. Good luck all!

Until November?

I think it is brilliant of O'Bill to be in the midwest -- wish all of you would get there. And I'd like to know how Panzade's family fared? Glad everybody is OK. (And too cool about the Royal Canadian Mounted Electricians!)

Good that Frances calmed down in the end, is that a possibility with Ivan? (I'm worried because the first Ivan I ever knew about was the gorilla, Ivan, from the B&I Circus Store. That's the gorilla now in Atlanta. A monstrous guy and emotionally immature.)

I noticed that those dots seemed to take Ivan right by Atlanta. Since I have to be there towards the end of the month, I'm not much liking that.

Everyone's back at the hacienda and mamma swears she's not leaving no matter what category Ivan is.

I post this in all seriousness.
I live well up the Atlantic coast from FL in central VA. The remnants of Gaston caused massive flooding in Richmond (70 miles to the east of me). The remnants of Frances did the same thing but thirty miles to the west. And now we have Ivan.
I'm frazzled. How is the mental health of Floridians holding up?
Again, I'm not trying to be funny. Not at all good luck to yall, johnboy.
