Who among us believe they have Neanderthal traits? Who does not?

@farmerman,
You just had to pair it with some wine with some hint of tannin.

@farmerman,
It tasted fine to me. We have different taste buds, mine may be more primitive because of my peculiarly-lacking sense of smell, anosmia of a sort.
I haven't read a lot of reviews of what others thought about that Falorni in Chianti place - oldest in Italy - that I just added a link for on the other post.... and haven't read how they get their boars.

I think North American wild boar were originally imported from Russia, so prior to eating, you should toast the fragility of life with shots of vodka.

@Tuna,
yeh, the actual wild pig of the US (thats not a peccary or javelina which is a genetically different animal) was probably an escaped Spanish Porco,Sus scrofida the Russian is a Sus nigripes and a much bigger motha
I am still trying to find out whether Ripple is still manufactured or have I been showing my age

@farmerman,
I should have looked up Ripple, do you remember Strawberry Hill?? It created mammoth hangovers. So did Cold Duck, it will never passed my lips again. And the old stand-by, Wild Irish Rose.

@farmerman,
I got a bottle for a christmas present once from a family member. I managed not to laugh after opening the package. Not that I was all that discerning back then or even now, but by then we were going to one of the first Trader Joe's in the US as it was close by and were busy a-learning from their small wine section (small building, still there - my niece works there while getting another degree). 'Course by now, they may have enlarged the place as I haven't seen it in years.

I also remember hearing "What's the word......Thunderbird" but I thought it was beer. And yes, Wild Irish Rose was a fortified wine. Hangover heaven.

I remember a dude and I framing houses, back in the 70s. We brought bottles of Mad Dog to sip and swig as we worked. I won't say how the houses turned out, except to point out that paint and caulk can make anything look good.
