@BillRM,
I am going to have to drop since I don't remember your wording which led me to reach that impression, it was more than what you just said, but since I can't remember and I know I won't be able to find the post, I'll just drop it. I didn't like your stance on rape and the discussion on child porn laws, but since it was all kind of vague and more of an impression from the words you said the impression and not words stuck with me. In my opinion, all those sorts of laws don't near far enough. Child porn is sickening and shouldn't be allowed. To get those pictures, exploitation of children have to take place, the laws can't be too strict in my opinion. If there wasn't buyers there wouldn't producers so the buyers are just as guilty as the producers.

@revelette2,
I just checked "My Posts" and the Hillary thread is still viewable, at least for me. How about everyone else? Can you see it now?

@glitterbag,
Still there for me too. I didn't look again though, yesterday, after people were saying it was out again. Probably it was out twice.

@Olivier5,
I can't post on the Hillary giving up thread, so I will reply to you here. I specifically asked Izzy to please give me a link to that Nazi poster that depicted Jews as being behind Stalin. The reason I did was that I post on YouTube as well, and the place is overrun with "Patriot" types who are against Jewish bankers, European Nazis, and paid Kremlin trolls who are posting that Jews are behind all the misery of the world. I thought the poster would come in handy. So that's why Izzy posted a pic of it.

Well, good, I thought I was singled out. Wink

Yeah, I saw that.

Wonder why some get to post on the thread and others don't?

@revelette2,
So the taxpayers should paid for 5 years of imprisonment at a cost of 200,000 plus for having one or more pictures of said a 15 year old girl?

The jail cells have no better used then to keep such people behind bars who have not directly harm anyone.

Oh buyers where do you get buyers as most CP is gotten by trading/downloading using a torrent network not by buying.

Footnote the US have more traders then the UK and such so where is this insane level of punishment in the US helpful in reducing the amount of CP available on the net?

In any case reasonable punishment, treatment and monitoring seem better then locking up such people for years.

But then most federal judges must be pedophiles or supporter of pedophiles also as they do not think congress got the level of punishment right either.

@BillRM,
If you guys are going to go there, you might want to start a new thread so this one doesn't end up locked.

@BillRM,
Here's one example in Oregon.
Quote:
How much does it cost to keep an inmate in jail?
There are several ways to calculate the jail bed cost. One way is to take the entire budget of the jail and divide it by the number of jail beds, then divide by the number of days in the year, which amounts to $234.71 per inmate per day. This method includes all County overhead costs, as well as support services and the booking operations. (*$84,600/year)

To determine the cost per jail bed of just the inmate housing area operations, subtract the County overhead costs, support services and the booking operations from the entire jail budget . Then divide by the number of jail beds and the number of days in the year. This then amounts to $129.44 per inmate per day. (*$46,598/year)

In other words, overhead and support services cost is a fixed cost that doesn't change with the number of prisoners.

@cicerone imposter,
That good that mean instead of ten times more of our citizens behind bars then any other western nation we could reach 20 times or more......

@Blickers,
Okay. That seems like a valid motive. I said it before: You asked for a link and could have been given a link. Reposting this sorry image was unecessary. You see, it's not the first time this particularly sad poster is hung here on A2K, and it's always done with the same motive of tarring another poster's reputation because she once DARED to crack a joke about a picture she did not understand... It's that silly.

I'm not for banning any image, just concerned about the trivialization of such images in hyperbolic internet bashing feasts.

No, I didn't report - hence me not even knowing what was the issue on the closed thread.

Try a sense of humor.

@revelette2,
There is a drinking emoticon. I feel very comfortable using it - and making remarks about people's posting possibly being affected by drinking. I'll continue to do it when I feel like it.

Accusing someone of having sex with children is a little more serious - and litigious.

Never thought seriously about the possibility of suing for remarks on the internet. Guess others have.

@cicerone imposter,
Here's the problem. Oregon spends more than four times more on prisoners than children's education.

I also think it's a bad idea to have these oddly-ruled caucuses with flimsy rules having so much weight in the opening rounds of the election.

Thank you, clarifying, useful that you've helped explain.

I'm one of the posters that was on the edge re Hebdo, but took the dive for them, because of who they were, their history. I'm still on the edge.

Freedom is odd, but I prefer it.
