@snood,
It got my attention. I guess the bar for lynching is much lower if the "perpetrator" is a PoC.

Yeah, not only is the bar lower, but the whole meaning of the word changes. Unbelievable.

@bobsal u1553115,
No. Not uppity. Just pointing out how BLM turned is hometown into a bigger pile of ****. I'm not better than the people of Ferguson because the town they live in got **** on by BLM, I am just lucky I am not living there. I also feel bad that people got put in that situation, even if they weren't a cop and didn't rob a convenience store.

Trump on black supporter: 'Look at my African-American over here'
Source: CNN

Donald Trump sought to tout his support among African-Americans on Friday by pointing out a black man in the crowd and calling him "my African-American."

"Oh, look at my African-American over here. Look at him," Trump said. "Are you the greatest?"
The remark didn't generate a noticeable response from Trump's audience.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks told CNN Trump was "just referring to a supporter in the crowd. There's no ill will intended, obviously." She added Trump was "grateful for this person's support."

Hicks also rejected the suggestion that Trump's use of the possessive "my" to refer to the supporter was racist, saying such a charge was "ridiculous."

@snood,
Not exactly a response to the post but I knew you'd be interested in this:

**URGENT** ACTION NEEDED BY JUNE 7th: #FreeJasmine
Yesterday, 29-year-old Black Lives Matter organizer Jasmine "Abdullah" Richards was wrongfully convicted of attempted felony "lynching". The lead organizer for the Pasadena Black Lives Matter chapter, Jasmine was found guilty of charges related to an attempt to shield a Black woman from what Jasmine believed to be unlawful detainment by Pasadena police following a "Peace March" that she and the chapter organized.1

There are no allegations of violence and no injuries suffered as a result of Jasmine's peaceful intervention attempt but she could face as much as 4 years in prison. This is a blatant effort by the Pasadena Police Department and L.A. District Attorney Jackie Lacie to punish Jasmine for her leadership and intimidate the entire movement. We still have a chance to free Jasmine by pressuring the democratically elected judge not to sentence her to jail time.

Will you join us in standing with Jasmine Richards and tell Judge Elaine Lu not to sentence Jasmine to jail time?

Jasmine's personal story is as inspiring as anyone's who has come into the Black Lives Matter Movement. Growing up in Pasadena, she has said she felt 'lost' until having a political awakening inspired by the Ferguson protests in 2014.2 Jasmine traveled to Ferguson as part of the 'Black Lives Matter Rides' and returned home feeling the call to fight back against police violence.

Unfortunately, her newfound purpose was met with aggressive harassment by law enforcement. Jasmine was repeatedly targeted for arrest and faced exorbitant bail amounts and excessive charges.3 Now local police and prosecutors have taken the extreme step of convicting Jasmine of felony attempted lynching - labeling her 'Peace March' a riot in order to bring the "lynching" charge and comparing Black Lives Matter to the Klu Klux Klan in the process.

Tell Judge Lu not to let her courtroom be used as a tool to silence protest.

Jasmine is currently being held in Los Angeles County jail while she awaits her sentencing hearing on Tuesday. Her charges are a disgusting misapplication of a 1933 California law intended to stop lynch mobs from forcibly removing detainees from police custody and engaging in public murders of Black people.4

Turning Jasmine into a political prisoner under a law that was created to protect Black people from race-based mob violence at the height of America's lynching epidemic is insulting to the Black community and all people of conscience. It would set a dangerous precedent and only exacerbate the lack of confidence Black communities have in the criminal justice system.

Please join us and demand "No Jail Time for Jasmine!"

Sincerely,

Arisha, Rashad, Scott, Enchanta and the rest of the ColorOfChange.org team

I sent an e-mail to the judge. Sounds like a puny effort but its what I could think of and get done.

Couldn't help but think of the old joke that has Tonto turn to the Lone Ranger and say, "What do you mean "we", white man?"

Have you heard it?

Here it is, in context:
The Lone Ranger and Tonto find themselves surrounded by hostile Indians. The Ranger asks Tonto: “What are we going to do, Tonto?” To which Tonto replies: “What do you mean we, white man (or paleface, or kemo sabe, depending on the version)?”

@snood,
Yep, I think it was one of Richard Pryor's jokes.

But I also heard the this one, too:
LR: How!
Tonto: I know how, I just want chance.

@reasoning logic,
The statement, "we need a common sense president" says it all! They have none. Trump is an avowed racial bigot, and for any minority to support this bigot is unspeakable.
