@hingehead,
Pedophilia is lust and thats a sin.

Necrophilia is also a sin unless its your spouse lol though I cant imagine you doing that ...

Slaves in the bible had civil rights and were made to rest on the Sabbath day.
Not like Satans version ..

Also returning slaves ( kidnapping) is a sin.

Most of the "other activities" that you talk about are either more holy in the bible than your version or were said to be wrong in the bible, just not in the 10 commandments.

Also I like the name ..

Lol. Really? Lol?

You worship a god who says it's alright to **** your dead wife, and that's fine.

Is there a cut off point. How long does God permit you to shag your dead wife? A day after death, a week, a year?

@Johnjohnjohn,
Wow, didn't take you long to drop the Ten Commandments argument, now you are talking about sins.

Slaves had civil rights? Pathetic revisionism. Go home you're drunk and stupid in charge of a keyboard.

@izzythepush,
He didnt speak of it because of a such thing called grief.

UNLESS someone's wife deprived them of sex - which is a sin- and they are weird < ------ cant forget that

@hingehead,
More rights than the slaves we've heard about ...

Yes they can get beaten but any murder of them is not allowed - much like today

They also can eat their slave master's food and they can sleep with other people without punishment.

Runaway slaves are free for good. ( Unless they commit another crime thst gets them sold off)

Sabbath day rest IS required too.

That's not grief, that's something else.

@izzythepush,
"Grief is a multifaceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and philosophical dimensions."

Do you think grieving people think about having sex with their spouse?

So you'd be happy to be a slave under these conditions?

@hingehead,
Who would ..
Slavery is slavery.

Also in the bible it's a punishment , not an act of racism.

Punishment for what, being born??

Deu 20:10“As you approach a town to attack it, you must first offer its people terms for peace.
Deu 20:11If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor.

Lev 25:44“However, you may purchase male and female slaves from among the nations around you.
Lev 25:45You may also purchase the children of temporary residents who live among you, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property,
Lev 25:46passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat them as slaves, but you must never treat your fellow Israelites this way. (sounds racist to me)

Num 31:17So kill all the boys and all the women who have had intercourse with a man.
Num 31:18Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.
Num 31:27Then divide the plunder into two parts, and give half to the men who fought the battle and half to the rest of the people...
Num 31:36Half of the plunder was given to the fighting men. It totaled 337,500 sheep and goats...
Num 31:40and 16,000 virgin girls, of whom 32 were the LORD’s share.

@hingehead,
If we were supposed to love this slavery it wouldn't be used as a punishment in the bible ...

You arent supposed to love punishments.

@Johnjohnjohn,
You don't make any sense.

a) because you said "Slaves in the bible had civil rights" as an argument against my argument for why the ten commandments shouldn't be trusted as the arbiter of justice.
b) what have the children of slaves done that are to be punished by a life of slavery?

You should cut him a little slack. He is attempting to make sense out of nonsense.

Exodus 20:5 (part of the 2nd commandment) provides a clue. "you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me"

@mesquite,
I was specifically thinking of Exodus when I asked the question. God is such an asshole.
