If you aren't concerned about "violent words", why did you get involved with the conversation about "violent words" vs actual violence that has taken place during the election cycle?

my involvement, such as it was, was to say there is no point in discussing Mr. Sanders any further in this thread about Mrs. Clinton's candidacy.

Mr. Sanders campaign is over. Done. Not of interest.

@ehBeth,
That doesn't mean his violent supporters have gone away. They committed violence in 3 different cities and no one on the left seemed concerned but words they are worried about.

@ehBeth,
There was a thread on what progressive means, forget who started it. I'm still confused, because I've seen the word in since in a variety of contexts, and, if I remember, not just re the U.S., and in the U.S., going back to earlier times.

Since I came to a2k long ago, I've learned that liberal - which I took myself as for a lot of years - is not always the same as I first thought, means different takes in other countries, so I guess I'm a leftie, though not a commie. Sounds, you know, subversive, but I'm not, generally speaking.

@ossobucotemp,
In Canada, progressive is used primarily in the context of conservatives, as one of our main parties for many years was the Progressive Conservatives. They were a lot like our version of Greens, economic conservatives and social liberals.

@Baldimo,
How many Bernie supporters were charged with assault?

How many Trump supporters were charged with assault?
How many on Trump staff were charged with assault? (before having the charges dropped?)

Nemmee.

I do care about the world's lands, but that seems to be another subject.

I would give that a "possible".

I'm just guessing here, and ehBeth can certainly speak for herself, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have said so if she didn't think so.

@roger,
Sounds far fallooting to me though I can imagine Putin type contact.
I haven't liked Assange and I haven't hated him, but I sort of perceive what he was doing in the first place, not that I recommend it.

I still think that was and is what he is doing, informing.

I'm just pointing out your false worries about violence from Trump supporters when we have had actual violence by non-Trump supporters. It shows how full of **** you guys really are when it comes to politics. Play it as nonchalantly as you want to, but there was actual violence by Bernie supports in at least 3 different cities were people were attacked and cars were vandalized.

Read more carefully, I haven't discussed the possibility of violence by Trump supporters. Everybody saw with their very own eyeballs the jerk who sucker-punched a protestor being led away. I see those rallies as a meeting of dumb-as-dirt bellyachers who think they are mistreated because they are downtrodden white men.

So I don't worry about those toothless Trump worshippers, but the Bernie crowd??? They scare the crap out of me. You must have seen the Bernie worship gone creepy, at least if you read anything Lash dreams up.

Until this is all over, I'm avoiding anyplace where Bernie supporters might be hiding and planning payback.

Neither have Trump's violent supporters. How about the violence launched against protestors at Trump's rallies, with Trump egging them on? Protestors were getting the crap beat out of them right in front of the stave and Trump wasn't saying "Boo" to stop them.

I saw on TV what happened at San Jose, and yes the anti-Trump protestors attacked the people leaving a Trump rally. I remember thinking that the roles had gotten reversed this time around. But you are acting like the protestors getting the hell beat out of them at Trump rallies for months before that didn't happen, that it is imaginary stories made up by the Left, while you complain the violence in San Jose and those other places.

By the way, I saw the Chicago rally and it looked to me like there was more violence by the Trump people than anyone.

@snood,
I started as a mildish (various reasons against) for Bernie and supporters, with qualms but a fair bit for, and moved on toward a woman I started a thread against, Hillary.

Depressing election, or possibly worse,

I've watched you go through this election and you seem to be really trying to stay true to yourself and weigh your decisions and opinions. I have always conceded I have doubts about Hillary, and I'm hoping that she can be held to progressive ideals by forces around her.

Maybe they didn't start out that way, but remember that Putin has Edward Snowden. You have to wonder if Assange is going all out against Hillary because Putin says if he doesn't, he can forget about ever seeing Snowden alive again.
