When will Hillary Clinton give up her candidacy ?

@Setanta,
It is allowed. Democrats usually crave Independent voters...heh. Just likely not THIS particular time.

Different states allow variations on allowing party switches.

@Setanta,
The primary system is broken. The other alternative in a two party system is to sit back and accept other people's choices. Super delegates were added to prevent another Jimmy Carter sneaking past the DNC's annointed candidate.

From Wikipedia's article on voter registration:

This declaration of affiliation does not make the citizen a dues-paying member of a party, and may be changed at any time. In many states, only voters affiliated with a party may vote in that party's primary elections, which are then called closed primaries.

The subject is not different states, the subject is the state of New York. But as i have already pointed out--morality is such a flexible thing.

@bobsal u1553115,
Yeah . . . wisdom from on high. The citizens of the state of New York, or their elected representatives, have determined that the state will have a closed primary. Were Sanders mopping the floor with Clinton, and likely to secure the nomination, i doubt that we'd hear any complaints from you about the process. You are so transparent.

Morality is such a flexible thing.

Certainly it is. Hillary and the shady DNC leadership welcomed Bernie with open arms when they thought his presence in the Democrat field would ameliorate charges of a coronation. Now that he's kicking her ass, they act like he climbed in a window without their explicit permission.

Ah, that dirty shifting morality!

@Lash,
Look up the tu quoque fallacy--you're promoting it. I really don't give a damn which one of them gets the nomination. What is far more important is for the Democrats to take control of the Senate. With one third of the seats in the Senate in play, that's a real possibility. But the Sanders-bots have gotten so hysterical and so vicious that there is a very real possibility that many voters who would ordinarily vote for the Democrat will stay home, and that seriously endangers the effort to take back the Senate.

You people are like a bunch of children squabbling in the sand box. I am disgusted by this entire charade--from both sides.

@bobsal u1553115,
Piss-off you witless political fanatic. People like you, from the right and the left, are the problem in the United States. I don't see you as any different than a Trump supporter.

(While you're at it, learn how to use the BB code.)

@Lash,
No, it's not politics as usual, and it should not be. The most important job of the Democratic Party this time is to take back the Senate. But people have become so wrapped up in the vitriol of the primaries that they don't seem to understand that, and they are likely to prevent the Democrats from accomplishing that important goal.

I also continue to believe that you are fundamentally dishonest, and that your only goal is to torpedo Clinton.

@Setanta,
Like I said, a nasty piece of work. Its not our fault you were born with small hands. Grow up, junior.

While you're at it park the BB code right next to your colon.

@Setanta,
Well then. If that's what you think of me, I've lost another person I thought, at the end of the day, was a friend of some description. Might as well ignore me. I won't see what you say anymore.

Don't understand the issue of the Senate, huh? So you default to the only thing you're good at--nasty personal remarks. Don't worry, there's an entire army of Sanders-bots here to vote down my posts, so you can entertain the illusion that you have right on your side.

@Lash,
Yeah, hide your head in the sand, put all the bad people on ignore. I won't ignore stupid things that you say, such as chortling over the prospect of Independents changing their party affiliation to vote for Sanders, while all of you holier than thou types complain about the nomination process. For whatever one may say about Mr. Sanders, his supporters, at least at this site, are a bunch of creeps and would-be bullies.

Bernie supporters act as though the rules which they are decrying were just now put in place just keep Bernie supporters from voting. New York is a closed primary, they chose to have a closed primary, they have that right. In the New York closed primary, independents can't vote unless they changed their status before the date specified. It is simply the rules the state of New York chose. Hopefully independents changed their status in time if they wanted to vote for Bernie Sanders.

The dem primary debate is taking a toll on posters relations here, indeed. Ex-friends shooting from the hip at one another, assuming the worse of the other, never making any effort to understand other people's viewpoint, lot's of anger everywhere... It's very messy and a little bit sad, especially when you compare it with the fun and enthusiasm generated by the various campaigns. This is a great election, full of twists and turns.

But maybe this type of A2K meltdown happens regularly on US election years. It's the first time I see that unfold.

You are so difficult to deal with on this site. (I'm still laughing at you accusing me of a lack of reading comprehension and talking to my own sockpuppets, especially after posts like this)

Lash decrying the rule over a closed primary system in NY...which prompted the next 10 posts from posters (are you having trouble following along?).
