You like this picture so much that you posted it several times here, in a doctered version to boot. And you like that Nazi propaganda poster so much that it's now the second or third time you post it... In spite of it being totally ugly and hateful, you post it again and again. Why???

OK. It's clear why this thread got locked down. So how about if we all (or most of us) just agree to drop all the crap that just went on and pull this thing back to the election - which is probably the most interesting election of our lifetimes and possibly one of the most critical.

Seems that Hillary is doing fairly well. Despite all the gloom and doom from the haters, Hillary has a platform and she is not intimidated by the opposition.

Well, that would make sense to me. The Soviet Union didn't need a pep talk to persecute Jews, but the Nazi's wanted the Russian citizens to believe the Jews controlled Stalin. Hitler had ben successful with his propaganda in Germany and Eastern Europe, I'm sure he thought it would work well with the USSR citizens. It's all very ugly and frightening. I hope the world never has to fight sure a terrible war ever again.

Yes. There were lots of "Soviets" fighting for the Nazis. Ukrainians, white Russians. The Nazis even investigated Russian war crimes. Google Katyn massacre.

They weren't doing it for altruistic reasons mind.

The population of the Ukraine was heavily ethnic German. I'm sure that clown Adolf thought his propaganda would play well there. But the Germans who had settled there had been brought in by Catherine the Great at the end of the 18th century and by 1941, had little in common with their distant cousins in Germany. The upshot was that they weren't trusted by German military authorities because they were "commies," and they were considered likely traitors by Soviet authorities. The Ukraine was not a happy place during the Great Patriotic War.

I may be missing something here... Wasn't this poster part of why this thread was shut down before?

Btw, a good book on the Katyn Massacre is Philip Kerr's A Man Without Breath. It's not a text book, it's a novel, one of a series featuring the protagonist Bernie Gunther. I've read them all, he's a brilliant character.

I think it may have been because of a feud between myself and A. N. Other. He's now on ignore so the problem should be sorted.
