@snood,
As many posting here know, I have met and like Lash. I still like her, and I still believe she is sincere, if loud and insulting; I could be insulting back. I think I get her changes, toward liking Bernie from where she was. I like him as well. I have now moved to the likelihood I'll vote for Hillary in our primary, but that is not clear yet. Our state is at the crumpled end of the primary season, when situations are not likely to need my New Mexico vote. I'm used to it, being a long time californian. A vote for Bernie could, in an eensy way, give him one more vote for people to listen to him, win or not. A vote for Hillary could give an eense of backup in her likely winning quest. I see difficulties re each re getting anything I want done, but now rather less for Hillary.

Almost all of us on politics threads have insulted (hah, I just typo'ed insluted) others. I have had to pass on her because of the endless barrage and the ways people have to put in effort to clear up her misleading stuff. I thank all who do challenge her and others' stuff. I'm too old, crabby, and tired, for now at least. The politics threads with all the insults tucked in now make me veer back to word game threads for actual enjoyment. I do try to say what I am thinking from time to time. I still owe Robert's thread - on how I/we have changed on politics over years - my thoughts put in some good order. I've about half written it up but the thread will have passed popularity before I've covered the question. It's a good thinker type thread though.

Heres a shock. An elderly white man was asking a question of a candidate, and he asked, something to the effect of...how will you eliminate corruption in the govt? I was thrilled at first to see an elderly white man asking such questions of Sanders (I assumed was the candidate, cuz thats his platform), then was totally shocked to see the camera pan to Trump! I was mordified!
Many people have made comparisons to Trump and Sanders in these long months. Of course Sanders is all inclusive, but just as unrealistic in his promises. Hes an idealist and I respect that, alot like Obama was. Then reality crashed in.
No matter how "corrupt" you think Clinton is, her experience is undeniable and necessary to nagivate the current climate, and as much as anyone may not like it, having her husband, who is still of very sound mind, helping her navigate it, is a powerful force. A force, after much consideration, is definately the force needed to beat back the trully radical forces now decending on the GOP.

@maporsche,
How many conventions have you watched? This has been an election cycle for the ages. Could we have brokered conventions? Second and third ballots (that mean the delegates are released?)

Yes.

Bernie's campaign was blacked out by the media and the DNC for a long time, which translated to the one with name recognition getting early votes. He and his supporters have had to fight hard to just get his name out, but look what happens as people find out about him.

Look at his favorabilities and hers. Millennials love him.

It can happen.

@izzythepush,
I do get the reason for the conjectures re a big ploy by lash, but I don't take lash as being a trickster. On the hysteric side, perhaps, but she has company of people usually on my side of politics: Joefromchicago, Edgarblythe, somewhat Debra Law.

I have also met JoefromChicago (his name is not Joe; I also like and tend to listen to him whenever he posts), and have met EdgarBlythe, have long agreed with him on much, very much, and sometimes not. I probably actually love him, not meaning romantically. We disagree here.

@snood,
I suggest that if you and I limited our interactions to issues we were interested in, and totally stayed away from behavioral and nit-picky things like typos and grammar, it would be a favor to the community.

@glitterbag,
Do you?

Accusing someone of pedophilia is far more serious than any accusation I've made.

Clean your own porch.

You dodging intentionally, or just getting sleepy? No one was talking here about typos or grammar. I was referring to your nasty use of pejorative words to call people drunks.

How odd. I'm still a registered Republican and I don't think you are talking about me.

@Lash,
I didn't accuse anyone of pedophilia, you must have been blotto.

And my family were news junkies, probably because of my Dad's war service, and the first conventions I remember were the ones where Nixon and Kennedy became the nominees. The conventions were very different at that time and for some time after that. It's not unprecedented for a nominee not to be granted sainthood prior to the convention.

Regarding feminists, what's funny is that I can't think of you as a feminist. But not because you hate Hillary, I can't stand Sara Palin...I'm not sure if she is actually a liar because I think she is poorly educated and dumb as a box of rocks.
There isn't a rule that women should only vote for other women, and it makes me sad you have such a low opinion of women. I hope you know other teachers you can respect. During my years at DOD although women initially were in short supply, they were very bright and could actually figure out who they wanted to vote for without getting advice from their gal pals or their daddy's.
I've never worked in an environment that was almost exclusively female, maybe if I did I'd understand your bias a little better.

@glitterbag,
What's interesting about Sarah Palin is her followers. They all can't be dumb as a rock. I wonder about McCain, though. Rock might be a compliment in his case.

Roger is right, now who is making personal attacks? You've been here less than a month, don't be too quick to judge.
