As Ive pointed out before there is one hell of a difference between Bernie and his acolytes. He does portray the good guy while taking advantage of the smear tactics of his followers.

I agree that there's a big difference between Bernie and his supporters. I've often thought that he would find some of the things his minions say and do to be wrong, and inadvisable.
But when you say he's "portraying" the good guy while taking advantage, it sounds like you maybe feel like there's actually not as much difference between him and them as meets the eye?

They can't help themselves, thank goodness.

A grand jury’s indictment on Monday of two abortion opponents who covertly recorded Planned Parenthood officials is the latest, most startling sign that a Republican campaign against the group has run into trouble.

In a dozen states including Texas, where the grand jury in Houston examined Planned Parenthood at the request of Republican officials but ended up indicting the opponents, various investigations have concluded without finding any wrongdoing by affiliates of the group. Eight states have declined to investigate since videos began surfacing in June alleging that Planned Parenthood illegally sells tissue from aborted fetuses.

In the Republican-led Congress, Speaker John A. Boehner resigned last fall rather than lead a government shutdown to force an end to federal funds for Planned Parenthood. Conservatives’ efforts to defund the group have since failed. Senate leaders increasingly fear that the fight threatens several Republican seats, and with them the party’s majority. Several congressional committees investigating the organization have yet to produce results.

This is soooo electorally foolish. We are just going to go ahead and really piss off one half of the electorate.

We talked earlier about what it looks like when modern western states move in the direction of fascism. This Guardian piece on Israel makes for a fine description

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are throwing a concert for Bernie. :grin:

This whole adventure is a once in a lifetime miracle. He may actually have enough honestly-generated money to beat corruption.

Smh!

I love you, Peppers!

I admit to being nervous about Clinton for Iowa and in general for the primaries if the young people who are feeling the "bern" turn out. I just honestly don't think he will be as good for the country as Hillary. I know she has big companies support, but I don't think she as bad as she is portrayed for having it. I think there does need to equality and a some of the big unfair advantages which big companies have over smaller companies and workers need to be addressed some more but Bernie's plans and the way he plans to fund them would hurt everybody who works, which would include even those who are on welfare(you have to work some or they take it away, I know, because I know people who are on it. You can check it yourself if you want.) So I hope he does not win.

@revelette2,
Recent trends in Poll reporting suggest Sanders will win in New Hampdhire by a large margin and, while the contest in Iowa is closer, he may have the advsantasge there as well, I believe the next subsequent primary is in South Carolina which Hillary will likely win handily. After that I suspect conventional wisdom indicates Clinton has a strong advantage in most states. However, conventional wisdom didn't predict the Bernie phenomenon at all, so the near term trajectory of the Sanders campaign may well be the determining factor here, as you infer.. Meanwhile a steady, but slow erosion of public perceptions of Hillary's honesty and reliability appears to be continuing.

@blatham,
It's one of those books that you also want to ask your nearest libraries to order.

My mother used to do that when she felt people needed to learn about something. Then my old high school pal - the city's head librarian - would put the books on display. Mrs hamburger had her ways of getting a message out Smile

@blatham,
I really liked the "dark forces" bit. It's hard to get too excited about a journalist who has a hard time taking a dose of exactly the same stuff that she dishes out, and does so for her own financial gain and advancement.

A strong whiff of double standards and good for the goose/gander here.

I've been hearing this drumbeat of Hillary is dishonest and untrustworthy, but people making those claims never point to anything specific. There are suggestions and hints about Vince Foster, Whitewater, Benghazi, emails, mishandling of classified documents but only with the sensational 'possibilities' being offered as a potential 'fact'. I think detractors are simply tossing these vague potential misdeeds around in hopes of the perception becomes reality. It's a lot like inciting a mob to irrational violence, no real evidence just wishful thinking. I think it doesn't speak well of us, that we cannot simply vote for the person we want to hold office, we will stand by and allow a candidate to be completely destroyed fairly or unfairly so that our pick wins.

I don't think we should pile on Hillary as dishonest when we are too lazy to research the issues ourselves. We are not voting for American Idol, we need representation at all levels of government.

@glitterbag,
According to the younger generation, the majority do not trust Hillary. It's easy to find on the net. According to the Washington Post, her credibility is getting worse.

@glitterbag,
It is very possible she will be indicted. Just the possibility should raise caution when reviewing this candidates qualifications.

I know I've been watching that. So many of them have not really looked at info, they just accept what they hear. Many of them were only toddlers when she was First Lady. If Hillary has committed crimes, she should pay. I'm not sticking up for her because I love her, but because I need a little more information.
You can't ignore a visceral reaction to some candidates, you have to trust your gut, I don't think I will ever not shudder when I hear Ted Cruz speaking. I don't like him, but I don't have first hand knowledge of crimes he may have committed. All I can say is I don't like him.

They said the same thing about Bill Clinton, and all it amounted to was don't ask embarrassing questions about him getting some on the side and expect an honest answer. Which would apply to the vast majority of men on Capitol Hill and statehouses across the country.
