@hawkeye10,
Hostility? Pur choice of words.
About this: member of your own party called you stupid ( Gruber). Was that hostility? Or you just accept it as truth because is coming from him?

It is not just members not sharing my views, but them having
toxic views to the future of this country

The answer is: never. Sorry to disappoint you body, but she seriously counting on idiots like you can find on this site that will vote for her no matter what!! Remember Mr Gruber, and what he said about democratic voters? " ...they are stupid".
Did any of the die hard democrats got upset? NO! He pretty much spit in their face - they said it's raining. He said sraight up: we have lie to you just to pass the Obama care. Did anyone ask any questions? No! They will vote tomorrow for another Obama-like idiot, because they are programmed that way! Democrats have NO brain of their own. Their heads are linked through the left propaganda. That's why you look at Hilary's scandals thinking: " damn, any conservative would be out with only a small fraction of the baggage that she has..." Hilary hopes are in her constituents stupidity, and as you reed some posts here, you would easily give to her assumptions some validity.

I've found that the voters are stupid in general regardless of party.

One of the flaws of democracy is that it tends to put people in power whose greatest skill is "manipulating stupid people".

It would be nice if we had a system where people were only allowed to vote if they could demonstrate a certain IQ level (and maybe also weighted the votes of the highest IQ people so that their votes counted for more). Perhaps we could factor levels of education in alongside IQs.

@oralloy,
OK, at least now I know why 43 was re-elected. We allowed stupid people to vote, also explains Reagan and Nixon.

@oralloy,
Wow. How refreshing! Oralloy, you just said something, that I was saying here the first day I've joined a2k: voters should have certain level of knowledge before alawed to cast the vote. Unfortunately no democrat would ever go for it, because they never would winn any election.

Clearly, the knowledge you require has nothing to do with spelling.

Your desire to restrict voting based on some knowledge level you think you should be able to define shows you really know nothing about democracies or the US Constitution in general. I wonder if your lack of knowledge would restrict you from voting under your system.

@parados,
I have been thinking, English is not his first language. Not that it matters, too much. If I didn't have spell check...wonder why he does not?

@parados,
Yeah...I would expect nothing more from sombody like you.
Your attention is directed to a typos, misspellings etc because you simply have no answer, or don't want to answer the real issues.

@revelette2,
Is not about any spell check. In case you didn't know, cellphones ocasionally are changing words you intend to type. I'm NOT on the regular computer.
I'm not reading every time my posts.
But yes, english is my second lanquage.
Wait a minute... I thought you leftiest love foreigners....
Ooooh I see, you only like those primitives from 3rd world, not Europeans, and definitely not those who would potentially vote conservative.
He he he ... you people are something else.
I wonder how America survived till now, having citizens like yourself.

Oh, by the way, and that's to all of you constitutional geniuses: WE ARE NOT DEMOCRACY, WE ARE REPUBLIC.
I figured it is worth mentioning since ALL of you making the same fundamental mistake.

@andy31,
It seems you have reading comprehension problems since I also pointed out your plan violates the premise of democracy and the US Constitution.

On what basis would you prevent people from voting that would not violate the Constitution?

It seems you have fallen for a RW meme that is false. The US is both a representative democracy and a constitutional Republic. It doesn't take a genius to understand this. In your version of preventing people from voting, would those that use the false dichotomy fallacy be unable to vote?

In case you think you are correct, let me direct you to several dictionaries.

@parados,
Primarily on basis that Constitution already provides.
First they have to be citizens of USA, therefore everyone has to pass the civic exam which I would bring to the WAY higher standard then is right now. The same with naturally born citizens. They need to be 18 and have a high school diploma, which should require high standard of civic knowledge also. Everyone should have ID!!. NO FRAUDSTERS! No Hilary's bullshit!!
Than we will see how many democrats will ever get elected!

@parados,
Here, parados. And you can shovel all your references to where Sun doesn't shine.
Democracy.. my ass. You and your crooked coleage professors are making more damage to this country then any war ever did. And that's a fact.

Frequently, politicians, and many ordinary Americans, refer to theUnited States as a democracy. Others find this aggravating because, unlike in a democracywhere citizens vote directly on laws, in the United States, elected representatives do – and, therefore, the U.S. is arepublic.Jan 22, 2014

@andy31,
One does not have to pass a civics exam to become a citizen if they are naturally born citizens. The US Constitution makes them citizens at birth.

Under what basis of the US Constitution do you think you can require a high school diploma and a test of knowledge? Voting is a right guaranteed by the US Constitution. You would remove rights without due process which is a violation of the US Constitution.

Your lack of civic knowledge would clearly make you ineligible to vote under your system.

@andy31,
I see you didn't bother to read the link, did you? It states quite clearly that the US is both a democracy and a Republic, just as I said.

First it says this about both claims of democracy and republic in the second paragraph
Quote:
Happily, both are right! Here’s why:

It ends with this statement.
Quote:
Professor Peter Levine agrees, concluding: “Ultimately, the United States can be called republican and democratic.”

It seems you pulled that shovel out of your own nether regions. You would clearly fail a civics test you are demanding people take before they can vote.

@parados,
Parados, parados, parados... you'll never change.

Firstly I never refer to citizens, when talking about civic exam, but to immigrants applying to be citizens.
Second I clearly said, we should prevent ILLEGAL VOTING specifically on the basis that Constitution already provides.
Again according to Constitution
- you have to be 18 or older
- you have to be a US citizen
- you can't have a criminal record
All of those conditions should be proven by proper identification.
All the above means: no illegals, no convicts, no double voting, one voter one vote.

Be man enough to acknowledge it...or just be quiet for a bit.

Contesting what is obvious to everyone just makes you look more the fool.

@Frank Apisa,
Good try Frank, but thousand Frank's coming to his aid or hopelessly trying to change or twist the facts, will NOT outweigh the balance of this discussion.
What you called the "obvious " of namly truth is hard to swallow for you leftiest, and so you often choking on it.
The matter of fact is that you very much count on violating your "obvious" or what Constitution provides in coming elections as in every elections. That is the exact reason for letting illegals flow through the border, and why Obama
try to ignore the law, ignore the Constitution and
give millions of illegals here privileges. You Frank and parados know exactly 'what's cooking', but you fight tooth and nail everyone touching this subject, so you are the ones looking like a fools.
