"You want a slick-shifting manual. Now we have an engine between your shifter and the transmission, which means you can't use mechanical linkages, it has to be a cable, which makes it kind of rubbery and vague."

Well at least the Camaro and Challenger are still being made.

@oralloy,
Mustang is the last one to be available in Manual.

@Leadfoot,
I didn’t know they sold any of those outside France. It was a Fiat brand originally. Peugeot bought them and killed them, in short.

Seen on the Canard Enchaîné’s front page, about the escape of Carlos Ghosn (ex Renault & Nissan) from Japan:

@McGentrix,
The Mustang stopped using pushrod engines after the 1995 model year.

I'm pretty sure the Camaro and Challenger offer manual transmissions.

@oralloy,
Stick is still an option on the M240i order sheet.
Its a $0.00 option, just like the moon roof delete.

The B58 straight 6 made the engine list too i see.

@Olivier5,
Chrysler imported them to US for a couple of years. Americans just didnt 'get' them.

@Leadfoot,
To be fair, the Simcas were not designed with the US market in mind. They were Fiat-derived cheap, popular cars for a latin-European market.

@Olivier5,
They arrived in the days of $0.25/gal gas, before the Arabs turned off the spigot.
A few years later they'd have been a hit.

@Leadfoot,
I don't know that any French car can sell well in the US.

@Olivier5,
They would have in 1974.
Now you can’t sell anything that isn’t an SUV, truck or crossover to Americans unless it’s to the shrinking pool of petro-heads.

Reminds me of what a car salesman said to a friend who was looking to buy a small economical car in that panic. He was quoted a higher price than the much larger and upscale cars in the showroom. The salesman actually said to him,
“If you want economy you have to pay for it.”

@Leadfoot,
2021 is probably going to be the last model year that Ford will build sedans of any sort.

But do they have a pushrod V8 to go with it? I'm something of a purist.

they go great in a strait line. Are there any results from any major tracks with the 2018 and later re-designs.??

Nurburgring:

Ferrari Enzo: 7:25.21

Ferrari 488 GTB: 7:21.63

Porsche 911 GT2 RS: 7:18.00

2018 Camaro with a pushrod V8 and a manual transmission: 7:16.04

The notion that "a car can only steer if it has a tiny little girly engine" has never been true. Pontiac Ram Air IV Trans Ams were readily trouncing tiny little girly engines back in 1969-70.

@farmerman,
The point is that your nonsense about manual transmissions and pushrod V8s being obsolete, is nonsense.

Cars with a proper pushrod V8 can maneuver just fine. There is no need for those little girly engines that you are always promoting.

I don't know what's up with your explorer, but this looks like a manual transmission to me:

@farmerman,
You cannot provide any examples of an untrue statement in my posts.

Neither can you provide any examples of me talking about aiming a shotgun.

The only person here who spouts BS is you.

@oralloy,
The very fact that you stated how to "Aim" a shotgun when any idiot knows you dont really "aim" a shotgun .(at the time you said that, even gungasnake gave you a time out).
Did you ever drive a car with the tranny for which you are feigning an orgasm?? I think not, otherwise youd be able to answer my question very easily.
