@Ragman,
The postage and the wait sort of cancel out the advantages don't they? I was going to pick one up in the morning.

@edgarblythe,
I know you mentioned you tried this earlier (I think) but maybe there's something added ? in this procedure that might help somehow:
http://www.howtogeek.com/103292/how-to-fix-shockwave-flash-crashes-in-google-chrome/
"More so than other browsers, Google Chrome is particularly susceptible to a specific but not uncommon situation in which it simply will not coexist peacefully with Adobe Flash—frequent slow downs and annoying crashes are common as a result. The following tutorial will help you get Chrome back to its speedy self."

@Ragman,
They always tell me there is a disable button for the chrome shockwave and another one for adobe. But as you can see on what I posted the disable button is for the whole works. I have thought about getting mozilla, but I really hate to break in a new system.

@edgarblythe,
I used Mozilla with not a lot of difficulty when I had a similar issue about a year ago.

@edgarblythe,
I'm glad to see that. Hope it works out for you. I think you can add all your fave websites by importing the list over but don't hold me to that one.

@Ragman,
I had it import the Chrome bookmarks. I lost my Hushmail email, on Mozilla, because believe it or not the dog ate the password. Hushmail does not store passwords, so I would have to open a new account to continue its use. I intend to get back on that site one last time to retrieve a couple of saved emails.

@edgarblythe,
Doesn't Hushmail have an 'I forgot my Password' message so you can make a new one?

[edit: Oh, OK. They're pretending it's for security that they don't store pwds. They lied..it's to save them work. ]

Here's their explanation to Hushmail pwd issue:

Been through that. I went back on Chrome long enough to get information, then opened a new account on Mozilla. Just now did it.

@edgarblythe,
Crossing fingers for your success.

I was a bit surprised at that Hushmail situation as I didn't think anyone would do such a thing. Those Fuckers! Here's their answer:

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, we are unable to reset, change or see your passphrase. If your passphrase is lost or forgotten then the account and the mail inside is also lost.

If you have a paid subscription to your account then we can transfer the payment to a new account with a new name and a working passphrase. Unfortunately, this does not transfer any mail or data other than the paid subscription.

If you would like to discuss your options please feel free to contact our support department on the following page.

Best regards,

Yeah, Hushmail tells us all of that before you sign up. I use a free account, but they have an upgrade that costs.

I just returned from Target, where I bought a keyboard. So far it's nice.

@edgarblythe,
but with the upgrade ...does Hushmail have a pwd that's storable and retrievable from them?

The biggest inconvenience with Mozilla is that I have to log in to a2k, again and again. It's the only site that this is happening on. It does no good to click "remember me" each time.

@edgarblythe,
ahh..sorry. Perhaps A2K knows you as the other identity somehow associated with the other browser and password......nah...I'm not sure ..why...someone will figure out here.

@edgarblythe,
well...I feel that you will get an answer..there are some 'puter smarties here.

There is this much known...in your Mozilla browser when you log in to A2K, A2k is not allowing your pwd. so there's a conflict with the info a2k has stored for Edgar name. so..there has to be a way to change your pwd ...on A2k...I tink.

Mebbe it's an A2K prob? Nawww...a2K is poifect.

Firefox is all kinds of screwed these days. Chrome works, but get a hold of AdBlock and be sure you keep that up to date.

I would never return to IE. Every virus on the internet uses that as a base for programming.

Oh, yeah, keep flash up to date and be sure you uncheck the mcafee install. If you have that, get rid of it.

Mostly it is the ads on sites that cause shockwave to crash. Having multiple windows or tabs open can really kill it.
