Some posters on here annoy me to no end. I said to myself for a long time, "When I get it, I'm ignoring that one, that one, and that stupid bastard." Several times I've moved to ignore someone this week, but I can't push that button. What's wrong with me? I know I don't want their input on so many levels. And, yet - - -
What about the rest of you. How many admit to ignoring one or more members?
@edgarblythe,
I have only hit the button once and it was with great pleasure.
I can't ignore anyone either.
@edgarblythe,
Anybody slapping at me, I wanna know 'bout it.
Even the Nidiots are interesting on some level, no?
(whomever yers may be...)
Prolly me,
Ah, all that power. What to do with it? Zap, be gone you moron. Zip, away with you.
I can't do it. It's like being the executioner or something. Maybe I need therapy.
@edgarblythe,
As strange as it may sound, I feel I am a big enough boy to simply consider some posts to be out of context rather than annoying, so I won't be using the ignore feature. That BTW does not apply to you EB!
The posts that would fall into the category of "out of context" for me are not the ones necessarily out of (my perception) of the scope of a given thread, so much as they introduce elements not harmonious with the reasons I hang around on A2K.
@edgarblythe,
I've had nooo problem pushing the button.
I suspect that the people I've zapped from my sight are not who most people would expect.
I've got my beady little eye on the next two. One of them was on my firefox ignore at the old A2K. I'm giving it a try with the new site, but I'm starting to gag again.
I have exactly two I have hit the button on. One is the biggest troll at this site, and the other can't seem to post anything but incomprehensible garbage.
@Ticomaya,
I think we took out the same "garbage".
i'm here for it all: the good, the bad, and the ugly. my mother is a therapist, and somehow i can't bring myself to ignore anyone.... being brought up with the belief that those that are nastiest usually need most help...not that that's why they're here, not consciously anyway. nobody bothers me enough to hit the button, at least not yet.
@dagmaraka,
I think the button is like the "moon landing"...
It doesn't really exist, but it makes us all FEEL better...
(I'll stop prior to religion, of course)
@Green Witch,

I suspect many people did.
@ehBeth,
Me too. I don't use it lightly, but I feel like I've tolerated the intolerable for two many years, already. I don't want to compare notes, but I'd bet those of us who do use it have a 30% to 50% overlap. As ehBeth says, not always who most people would expect.
@roger,
I'm trying to decide how many nested quotes I have to see before the middle finger hits that button.

I'm ignoring two, but I won't admit to their names.
@ehBeth,
I can live with the nested quotes - from someone who has something useful to say. But the next crude and insensitive remark on the loss of someone's cat (just for example, of course) and the list grows by one.

Well thanks for breaking my heart, Beth. I knew it!
@edgarblythe,
I remember when I first started using the site, I remarked to myself "Im glad there isnt an ignore feature" I felt that everything i said was rubbish. especially when i started posting in the poetry threads. I fell i was still very young at that stage. Im glad to see that some people I would have expected to silence me have not for they have replied in a thread or two of mine. Nice to see you are loved you know
@Seed,
Seed
You are one of the positives on this site. I can't imagine anyone ignoring you.
