Is it crazy to talk to your cat?

@OmSigDAVID,
Quote:
Every cat of whom I have ever heard is a mammal.
Mammals come in 2 genders, not 3.

Those 2 genders r: male and female.
For the male ones, we use the pronoun: he.
For the female ones, we use the pronoun: she.

It makes no sense to attribute the pronoun: it, to a mammal.

I'll refer you to the dictionary:
it
pronoun, nominative it, possessive its or (Obsoleteor Dialect) it, objective it; plural nominative they, possessive their or theirs, objective them.

Second definition:
(used to represent a person or animal understood, previously mentioned, or about to be mentioned whose gender is unknown or disregarded):
It was the largest ever caught off the Florida coast. Who was it? It was John. The horse had its saddle on.

It's craziest to NOT have a cat, and talk to it.

Everyone asks if she was micro chipped...of course this was something I was going to do today!

If she does come back, or if you decide to earn good karma by adopting another cat, you might also get the cat a collar with your phone number on it, in addition to the chip. People immediately recognize a cat with a collar as belonging to someone, whereas a cat with just a microchip may look feral.

@Banana Breath,
Cats may come in two genders, but a lot of them visit the vet and become a third.

@izzythepush,

We have several cats around here.
I bought them some grooming arches,
yet to be assembled. We shall see how well thay like them.

@OmSigDAVID,
Let's see how long it takes you to assemble them first.

@Kolyo,
I was getting her micro chipped, spayed and vaccinated that day. I was on my way to the vet. But-- definitely...she had a collar but no tag...I wish I'd done that.

@izzythepush,
I think Step 1 is to take the box out of the car.

Possibly Step 2 is to take the stuff out of the box,
or just have my assistant take care of it.

Step 3 is to select strategic deployment areas.

@Germlat,
Well, don't feel too bad. We went years without tagging or puttting a collar on Mikey, transporting him to and from the vet many times. It was only when my mom moved to a ground floor apartment that allowed him to go in and out that we got the tag and the collar.

@Germlat,
Sometimes in life, things happen for a reason.

You "now" know you "love" cats and you'd do anything for this little girl...

She will find her way, she found you.. Now go rescue another cat and call it the same...

Could not agree more that making her the starting motivation for saving another cat from having a short and unhappy life is the best way to honor her.

Every time I taken in a cat over the years it is partly in honor of the first two cats that turn me into a cat lover many decades ago.

When I was about 6,
a pussy cat came to me on a Saturday in May.
She made herself comfortable in my coat.
The next day, Mother's Day, she gave birth.
We sheltered her and her children in our garage for a while.
Then her human came and took them.

@OmSigDAVID,
The cat I grew up with as a boy died when I was 17. It died on April 1st, so when my mother told me the cat was dead I didn't believe her, although I did think her acting was brilliant.

I had to apologise quite a lot for that.
