I have intense road rage as it is....not that it does any good since the other drivers can't hear me calling them brainless, a**hole, mother f**king, goat-raping idiots.

I have started listening to this radio station every morning on my commute to work and it's really funny and entertaining so...hopefully I can start a new morning routine. If not, I will just have to crash my car into the nearest Starbucks. Twisted Evil

If they drive SUVs, I completely concur with your sentiments. I listen to Howard Stern in the morning. It gets out a lot of frustration, and I laugh. Feel free to crash into a Starbucks. Just tell the cops "I just quit smoking, cut me some slack pigs." Works every time. Starbucks don't sell donuts.

Kristie,

Good for you! Keep it up...

As far as things to do in the car...When I quit I always had a big cup of coffee in the car in the morning so that I could move my hands a lot, just like when I was smoking. The other thing I did was have a big bag of seasoned sunflower seeds on the passenger seat. And listening to funny radio personalities always makes it a little better too.

I'm just past 7 weeks smoke-free and I feel better than I have in years.

All the best.

Good job Kristie! If you pull this off for purely financial reasons; that will make you the strongest person here. After 20 years, I didn't think my car would make it more than a couple blocks (Gas-cigarette Station) without a cig. That one vanished, I'm happy to report. I don't even think of them while driving any more.

I've repeated this before, but it's worth repeating (chanting if you need to): The discomfort you are feeling is because you smoked... not because you quit. Blame the cigs. We all have to quit eventually or forfeit big chunks of our lives on the back end... not to mention the hours spent each day on the silliness. It doesn't get easier. Keep fighting the good fight! It gets much easier as time goes on.

Go Kristie!

Glad to hear you're still rocking Jer! Shewolf? Anybody else care to report?

Secret message... keep it that way... Craven; I don't want to bug you but I'm awfully curious if you are still off?

Kristie,

To be quite honest with you I have a craving once every three or four days now. It's pretty much a non-issue now. I like it.

Just remember that you really only have to go 4 days to be finished with the physical addiction...after that it's all in your mind. So go crazy for the first four days and then figure out a way to teach your mind to think of other things.

Be strong.

Well, the financial aspect is what really got my hubby and I to quit. But the health aspect is far more important. I've been saying I was quitting for a while now. I did for about a week a while ago. But this time, my hubby and I are doing it together so it's different. We are buying a house in 6 months and that $500 we will save between now and then will be nice to have for the house. I guess whatever motivates you motivates you. For me, it's the benefit of having the money I work so hard for in the bank to be used for something worth while. Very Happy

By the way, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! It's so nice to have people who have been here to talk to. I feel like I'm in de-tox and it sucks. Well, I guess I am in de-tox...damn those cigarette companies!

Yes, you've earned them. You might want to kick your own ass on the treadmill or doing laps is a pool or something sometime soon. Smoking after these activities always made me feel like an idiot, so conversely, not smoking afterwards makes me feel pretty damned good!

I think I might owe Bill a dinner for his commitment, if he ever finds his way up here. Kristie can come as well, but not yet. Wink

So, what, is Fox at the Convention? (none of my business of course...)

Welcome, Kristie, and you're more there than not, keep hanging in.
