Hi, Paula, it takes a bit to mean it. Don't frown at yourself, it only attracts other frowners (I say from experience). We're behind you.

Paula,

I, too, smoked 1.5 packs a day and quit cold turkey. It is the third time that I've ever tried to quit smoking - and I've gotta say that I owe a lot of my success to Bill. (Yay Bill! - haven't heard from you in a while OB...wassup?)

I chose the same route bill did...vacation then quitting when I got back. And it's been six weeks today.

Best of luck and don't feel like a failure. Just start quitting again tomorrow.

Cheers,

-Jer-

paula - trying is definitely something you have to do at least once on the road to quitting (at least in my experience)

it worked best for O'Bill, at the beginning of the thread, to have his family visit first - and know that his plan was to quit after he'd returned home. that particular approach seems to have worked for him.

finding your own way to be a non-smoker isn't easy (unless yer no worries jer  )

O'Bill, checking in. Been super busy lately. 10 weeks, no worries, no problems.
Jer; you were as instrumental in my success as I was yours. Since you said you were following my example, I doubled my efforts to make it a good one.

Paulaj, like you and Jer, I smoked a pack and a half a day too. Maybe there is something special about the 11th after all. Idea You might want to consider trying again on Saturday, September 11th 2004... and be sure and tell everyone you know you are going to.

I took off for a little while and came back buried. Still buried, but some friends reminded me to check in.

Thank you all again for the encouragement, and keep up the good work everyone!

You've been missed. I'm already getting ready to see you in your cheesehead. It's almost that season again.

OB
OB, its about time we heard from you. A rumor has been going around that you hired a bunch of former dot.comers to dig a tunnel under the Panama Canal so you could get to Costa Rica without a passport, which is being held due to your recent brush with the law.

BBB

Thanks BBB, Osso.
Worry not Beth... Between Sozobe and Jer I bet there's enough talent to put Cheeseheads on everyone! (I saved a bunch Soz made last year).

In a word? FANTASTIC!
Lost Mckenzie Mad , but gained Mark Roman! Smile Big Grady Jackson looks even faster and stronger than last year; so consider the middle closed (Gilbert Style). Barnett (last year's rookie of the year, IMO) looks to have improved as well. With the addition of Mark Roman (and maybe Ahmad Carroll will get his ultra fast sh!t together), look for Darren Sharper to be everywhere the way Butler used to be. The hole I feared in our secondary appears to have vanished! I'd say our D will be in the top 10!

Our awesome O-line is returning so Ahman and Davenport will gain easy yards. Same receivers; only a year older and wiser. Look for Javon Walker to look like a top ten receiver, but his numbers won't show it... only because of the plethora of targets Brett has to choose from. Oh, and Bubba Franks appears to have worked hard in the off-season on learning how gain yards after the catch. This year he'll deserve his Pro-bowl selection. Opposing defenses will be terrified. We have speed at running-back and receiver positions, the best damn quarterback there ever was behind a fantastic O-line and a game plan to spread the ball out.
Mediocre coaching will be the only thing that can defeat us! Twisted Evil

Go Packers!

I'll be happy if we finish 13 and 3, Panzade... but the Skins Shocked ... and what makes you think the Titans can handle the Frozen Tundra? Colts have a shot... but they better be prepared to put up at least 36 points if the want a W.

Soz, my fellow shareholder, if you haven't joined "Packer Partners Club of Champions" yet, you must! It comes with a wonderful surprise gift that speaks in the voice of HIM...

Bill looks attractive even with a piece of cheese on his head! If I did the same I'm not sure I would fair so well.
