Well....we could have the wake anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<any excuse!>
Support here if you do, girl.
OK, I'll be quiet now.
I am not ever interested in being nagged myself, much less doing it to friends.
Well, you'll quit sometime. Could add a minute element of fun to quit with pals. I dunno, the twice I quit I didn't have company. Schniff.
Well, I was pretty good till yesterday evening, did not smoke a single ciggie till abt 1900 hrs - and then I started drinking with a friends and ...
But been very good today - mind you I am in office and a crisis hasnt hit as yet ....
Gautam
Tautam, if you slip and have a cig, just start over the next day. If you've been reading this thread you know it takes a few days to get nicotine out of your body and start reducing the cravings. Foxfyre has provided especially good day by day effects you can expect.
Occom Bill's stubborness helped him get through the tough times. You just need to find that stubborn purpose and hang on to it each day, one day at a time.
Keep trying - you will succeed.

Just shoot your mouth off... A LOT! No one likes to eat crow.
GO GAUTAM!
GO JER!
Well I am still off the ciggies but I have a sore throat now ... typical, soon as I stop, I get sick!
Or could it have been all the vodka & tia maria I shoved down my neck last night and the joining in with a night of karaoke screeching?
I need to lie down, I feel unwell.
I figured
you were still in charge. Me too. Strangely, my throat too has been just a little soar at times since quitting. Thus far I'm assuming it's because it isn't numb from a near constant bombardment of poison.
I must have recovered a great deal because I feel sorry for Gautam and Jer. It must suck to be them right now!
Confession - I have had one ciggie (not good) but compared to the 5 I would have usally had by now - I think I made some progress.
I am just feeling so irritated right now - that is probably due to the lack of nicotine in my blood stream - but I am holding up and still havent managed to lose my temper
Keep it up, Gautam! Get some sugarless gum, if it helps. This feeling will pass.
Hang in there G. And remember; the discomfort and irritation you are feeling now is because you smoked. NOT because you quit.
The irritation could be work-related, mine was!
Don't hold back on punching out some co-workers if it will make you feel better - worked for me!
Absolutely! Go ahead and yell at a few people! This is your golden opportunity!! (Later you can claim it was the nicotine withdrawal.)
<trying to picture Gautam yelling at employees>
Somehow I don't think that is his style!
Alrighty Kids...
So I had my last cig last night before bed. The ashtrays are put away. My lucky lighter is put away. And there are no cigs in the house.
No more cigarettes cause I don't smoke.
Thanks for the inspiration Bill.
Have a great day.
That's the ticket, that was something you used to do.

Awesome dude, and you're quite welcome!
GO JER!
GO GAUTAM!
This is a good thing no matter how miserable it is.
Remember the misery is temporary. The benefits are just ahead and are forever. (Don't you just HATE people who say schluck like that?)
Congrats on your month Bill! I was so wrapped up thinking about me that I didn't notice it had been a month!!! Good for you.
It's now been almost a full business day since I woke up and life is okay.
I can't think straight and I'm sweating a lot - but it's all good.

No problems."

Cheers,

Redneck compliment: You sure don't sweat much for a girl
Seriously I am sooo proud of Bill and sooooo proud of Jer and, I hope, Guatam too. The first day is hands down the hardest.
