It just dawned on me… I've already conquered the rest of my bad habits, unless you count coffee.

You are so wrong on that one, Bill. You still haven't conquered your most despicable bad habit.

I speak of your affection for the Green Bay Packers.

Break that vile disgusting habit, my friend, and a tremendous weight will be lifted from your shoulders.

Ah Gus... You still don't get it, do you? Show me a world with 6 Billion Cheeseheads, and I'll show you world Peace. Despite millions of worshippers worldwide, no wars have ever been fought and almost no blood has been spilled in the name of the Mighty Green Bay Packers. Throw down your guns and join us! Inner peace will be your reward.

18 hours, 42 minutes and NO problems… I just ate some pizza and my body is trying to play the old "I can't digest food without a cigarette trick." As if I'm going to fall for a psychosomatic lump in my stomach, please.

The word F#%k is on the tip of my tongue, but I haven't used it on anyone yet. Again, if this is as bad as it gets, NO PROBLEM.

Hang in there!

Any more reports from Squinney, BPB? (And incidentally, how's her dad doing?)

Ah yes, if you had cheese on your head - it would be a full time job just getting that stuff off the soonest (and, you'll never go hungry)

Bill, if you count the minutes from your last cigarette you're admitting defeat.

You are in essence saying, "Hey, I made it two weeks!"

Doesn't work that way, buddy.

Just pretend that you've never smoked.

I don't ever agree with any other a2k members, but this time Gus is right on the money and I have to bend a few rules and say so.

Well done, Bill. I recently made five days, then fell back into a pack of cigarettes like it was a whorehouse.

LOL, thanks guys but I haven't actually been counting minutes. Since I stopped at precisely midnight, and there is a clock in the lower right hand corner of my screen, the time log kinda pops out at me. NO FEAR. 1 Day, 9 Hours, 42 minutes and NO Problems!

Thus far, nothing smells or tastes any different and my coffee still seems incomplete without a smoke. I wonder if it always will. I made a pot of decafe last night as an alternative, but it makes a lousy one since coffee and smoke go hand in hand.
Having already kicked the snacking habit, I refuse to fill my face as a distraction. I read somewhere that if you do something everyday for 2 weeks, it becomes a habit. I can do this without distraction for 2 weeks, I am sure. By then the physical part of the addiction should be long gone and the habit removed. Do not take my mention of 2 weeks as failure prediction. It is not. If I were going to fail; it would be RIGHT FRIGGIN NOW! Twisted Evil Only a damn fool would suffer 2 weeks to ultimately accomplish nothing. While I certainly have the potential, I will not be that fool.

Plenty of room on this thread for another suffering ex-addict Blatham. Why not join me right now?

Hope you're doing well Squinney! Don't let the lil sonzabitches win again! They aint that good!

BPB, Next time you talk to her tell her I said (so you don't get blamed) that I read somewhere that each and every puff off a cigarette starts the 3 day **** period over again, because that's how long it takes to get the chemical out of your body. Cheating makes it harder, not easier.

I trust you already reminded her about all these wonderful people pulling for her.

Go Squinney!

I told her that, but squinney is the type that will smoke 2 packs to be defiant if she feels I'm nagging her.

Meanwhile I just increased my five mile a day walk to seven miles a day.
Someone will have to be healthy while she's in the iron lung

Now if I could just put the heroin and cocaine down.........

Hell, talk about withdrawal - My wife insisted we needed a half gallon of ice cream yesterday. It takes all of my will power to resist having a large bowl of it every day. After I explained why I didn't want it, she insisted, "Oh, look at that sale. We have to buy some now." #$&^%*&%&^^*&$
