White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan told reporters that the president had been riding his bike for about an hour on the grounds of the Gleneagles golf resort when he crashed into a policeman assigned to a bicycle security detail.

The police officer, from the Scottish region of Strathclyde, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a minor ankle injury and sent home. His name was not released.

The president, who landed on asphalt pavement, sustained "mild to moderate" bruises and scrapes on his hands and arms. They were bandaged by White House physician Richard Tubb, who accompanied Bush to Scotlan

Bush was going at "a pretty good speed" when he collided with the officer, who was in a security detail on the resort grounds.

The president, who was wearing a helmet, slid on the pavement, suffering scrapes on his hands and arms that were bandaged by Tubb.

If he weren't such a fake bravado kinda guy, I'd likely give him some slack. But the combination "I'm a rough and tough cowboy and I'll take you dead or alive" mixed with the numerous scrapes on his face from falling down is FUNNY!
