Yes, Everyone is 10 in the 5th grade.

What is your mothers name?

I'm going to call her RIGHT NOW and tell her you are not in school!

Without Newton, Leibniz, Locke or Mozart we would be living in a stone age now both technologically and socially. Comparing these universal geniuses to Savant or some korean kid without any achievements is hillarious IMO.

Why is that, ratzi? The question was not who has had the greatest impact on the present-day world. The question was simply who has the highest IQ of all time. Two very different things. Highest IQ does not guarantee success, nor does success necessarily indicate a high IQ.

Ok, I would agree on that. But everyone associates IQ with genius, power of creation, invention and independent thinking instead of high scores on some psychological tests. there can be thousands of people in the world with Savant's IQ, which is mathematically possible. But what are they doing? Are they aware of their gift? This reasoning is correct if we don't read the title of this thread literally. The best basketball player is not always the tallest one. ok ?

That's very true.

Nor, for instance, does IQ cancel out creativity or vise-versa.

I'm 13, I have an IQ of 141. I've written 5 pieces, play in two orchestras, take part in a choir and am working on my first novel. I'm a creative guy, and yet, have an IQ of 141. I'm no certified genius (by the standards that IQ has set for us), so I guess I have a balance.

FYI, anyone who's taken the Tickle test, i just received my free 15 page analysis of my score by clicking past about 20 pages of "outstanding offers" (i even signed up for one.) maybe the best part is you get an answer key...turns out i missed 2 items, and on one, i read the question incorrectly, so i picked the figure that belongs with the others, instead of the one that didn't belong. Sad

anyway, according to Tickle i'm a "facts curator", which isn't far off the mark, actually. Wink

you're a poor or indifferent test taker, or you took an invalid test, or maybe the test was given in a language you didn't know, but it's doubtful your score's accurate.

I just took the Tickle test. I got 126 and I'm 13 years old. I don't know what that means so I'm looking around on the internet to find out. Tickle told me I'm an insightful linguist. That sounds good to me since I plan on being a writer. Oh and Prince El, if you got a score of 51 I doubt that you would be able to read let alone spell good and use the internet. Have you ever heard the story Charlie? We read it in school and Charlie had a score higher then 51 but not high enough to have a normal IQ. Charlie was worse at spelling and had no idea how to use punctuation so take a hint and stop faking. It's annoying and no one really wants to talk to someone who just wants attention.

excuseme, that was a joke,
i got a score of 130 on tickle and i am almost 19.
ok tell me if how valid this test is. an iq score like that, is it recognisable?

as for the highest IQ of all times, I have just found out it was a man called William James Siniji(not sure about the last name, though something beginning with s)

Sidis, not Sinji, and he's a strong candidate for highest IQ distinction.

as to your IQ, Prince, the score you received may be accurate, but it's not "recognizable" in the sense of generally recognized as valid. if you want a recognized IQ you'll have to take a recognized IQ test, or something like the SAT/ACT/GRE etc. which correlate closely to IQ.

one more thing worth pointing out is that adult IQ's are much more reliable than childhood IQ's because children develop at different rates. i don't remember if Tickle even asks you for your age, or it's scored assuming the taker is an adult, but either way you did better than most people who have taken the test, for what that's worth.

Aww...Thanks for the response!
I figure that the most prestigious site on the INternet for IQ testing is HIgh iq society. Am I right?

not familiar with them. if Mensa has an online test, it's probably worth a try, since they only accept as members those scoring at 98%ile on recognized tests, so it seems unlikely their online test would give an inflated score.

Mensa has a workout test that I haven't tried.
So you have an IQ of 140, what do you do?

it's more accurate to say i scored 140 on the Tickle test. i've had similar scores on other tests that may be more legit. i don't want to get more specific than that. if you're asking me what i do for a living, i write software, but i'm also taking classes in a different field so i can switch careers. just for the record, beyond a certain point, say 130, higher IQs don't seem to matter much in the real world. Richard Feynman, Nobel prize winner for physics, once said, "To win a Nobel Prize is no big deal, but to win it with an IQ of 125, now that's something."

all things being equal, 130 is plenty. you still need things like motivation, opportunity, and even interpersonal skill depending on your goals.

It is very difficult to judge, garrisonhess.

Good or bad depends upon a lot of factors. An IQ of 127 is fine. After 115, IQ differences don't matter.

Anyway, here's a link you may find useful
interpretation of IQ scores
