Conservatives will never understand liberals. I'm glad I'm an independent/moderate.

Ahh, but will Liberals ever understand conservatives?

I'm glad you're an independent/moderate too, for if you called yourself a conservative, you might never understand Liberals.

Is an "independent/moderate," like a "Mexican-American?" Is the "/" and the "-" equivalent?

Or can one be an "independent/liberal," or an "independent/conservative?"

Not to fixate on the one comment, but why do you think Conservatives will never understand liberals? Are they comprehensionally challenged? Is there anything else they will never understand? Perhaps Pi or Why birds sing so gay.

I knew a guy that was conservative/liberal, but I don't know if I would say he was conservative-liberal. Anyway, he didn't last long. He was hit by a car in his teens.

SCoates, How ironic! I knew a liberal-conservative, and he died from drowning. Didn't know which way to paddle.

Yes, the death of your friend was ironic. The death of mine however was merely tragic. It was a drunk driver, so it wasn't really Brian's fault he was hit.

So what does the run over person's politics have to do with it?

Just as the conservatives want to make the liberals despise soldiers, so they want us to be responsible for the lone actions of a man we had no control over. Yet they try to lay claim to being the most reasonable.

Yikes! I just looked in the mirror and realized I wasn't black and white. That was quite the surprise.

Reading through the last several posts in this thread I would bet a Cappucino Grande that the folowing statements are true:

1. Without using any derogatory or insulting
adjectives, innuendo, or terminology, most
conservatives could write a very good
assessment of what most liberals believe.

2. Without using any derogatory or insulting
adjectives, innuendo, or terminology, very
few liberals oculd write a good assessment
of what most conservatives believe.

Many conservatives cannot separate Kennedy's personal exploits from liberal causes. Could it be because they prefer lazy guilt-by-association rehetoric in place of issues.

I disagree edgar as Kennedy was more conservative than most conservatives in Washington are today.

I think anyone with a brain and some patience could write a fine criticism or praise for both conservatives and liberals.

Fascinating. You have written a derogatory post about liberals to show that liberals, unlike conservatives can only write derogatory posts.

How Conservative of you. Very Dale Carnegie-ish as well. You really won me over to your way of thinking. I guess you guys are pretty smart, in addition to your abundance of people skills.

To quote Richard Mellon Scaife (who cannot be over-quoted), funder of the right and scourge of the left, in reply to a writer from the Columbia Journalism Review..."You fukking communist kunt, get out of here." He's really a straight-shootin' fella, reflective of the midwestern soul of the conservative community, not overhappy with learning yet deeply sensitive to the subtle nuanaces of malt. I'm a fan.

Fox just revealed her true colors and bias with her preconceived ideas of what conservatives really stand for; every conservative is smarter than liberals. She has logic on her side - 1,000 percent! I guess liberals are doomed.

BPB, I wasn't attempting to win over anybody. I was making an observation. I could have added that most liberals could not even accept such a challenge without attacking the messenger. Smile

(But my Dale Carnegie training prohibited me from making that addition.)

I love it when you capitalize. Your melifluous voice comes through resonant and bold. As it happens, I type this from the mid-west today. But I was jokin. Scaife represents nothing other than his own very odd pathology.

My God man----you won't find any $100 bottles of wine in "small town"
America but I can understand your desire to become acquainted with the part of America that Canadian intellectuals know nothing about.
