Sorry for the confusion. BBB has asked this in another thread. I replied that "Turtle Island", is what many Native Americans call North and South America. There is a Native American story that is lengthy and explains this. I may do a thread on it at a future time.

I'm used to dealing with tradional natives here and sometimes forget that not everyone knows our ways, slang or customs. Since we travel so much through other native nations, we've learned a lot. Actually, I never learn a thing. I'm just a dumb Indian woman, dunno nuthin'. I'm just like a trained parrot, repeating what I've heard. Laughing

Sam says'"But now I'd say that I have to go to the garage. It's spring cleaning!" (I'm not sure what springs we have out there. The spring thaw run-off has dried up in it and there aren't any metal springs there to my knowledge. However, knowing Sam as I do, I'm sure she'll explain."

walter : "turtle island" is indeed located near thunder bay; it is an indian reservation. i'd say they have one of the most beautiful websites with indian motives. even if you have just a quick look, i'm sure you'll be impressed >>>TURTLE ISLAND ..... there is another turle island located in british columbia. we got plenty of turtles around here ! (including the infamous "snapping turtle" !). hbg

I have read this exact sentence on other posts you've written. Why do you so refer to yourself?

info,

Billie is heyoka. They often say the opposite of what they mean. There is also the thing about being aware of how little one really knows about anything compared to all the information out there. Make sense now?

I was called "Amarak" or that was given to me by a group of NezPerc(sp) and Colville friends.

Sorry Billie, not this time. It really is the real translation. No cigar this time, but I'll get a bananananana (How the heck do I stop writing that word?) flavored bubble gum cigar for you when we go to town for groceries. Smile

Bubblegum, Bill, Bubblegum cigar. A Bananananananananana (Hate that word!) cigar, but you can't have it now for acting so silly. Well, not right now, maybe later. Cuban, last Cuban I saw that looked good was Desi Arnez,Sr., But I was too young and he was married to Lucy! Crying or Very sad
