With Obama in office it should be expected. There is not economic liberty here.

@coldjoint,
Who says you are as thick as a brick, cj!

What you are desperately trying to avoid is that a communist country is going to blow the "capitalist" USA out of the water. And China didn't even have to do it by raping and pillaging hundreds of poor countries.

You are right, they were busy killing their own.

@coldjoint,
You are right, they were, but you are avoiding the fact that a communist country is blowing the doors off the great capitalist USA.

You are doing this because your propagandist memes meet reality and you are uncomfortable with that.

You are also ignoring the fact that the USA has amassed much of its wealth by stealing it from the world's poor.

@JTT,
I can think of several obvious reasons everyone already knows. Some are ignorant because they haven't been informed. For example, in neither high school nor university was any information presented in my American history classes about the U.S. occupation of the Philippines. Many, out of a misguided patriotism, don't want to hear about the dark side of their country's history. This phenomenon certainly isn't limited to the U.S. For example, today most Russians still are unable to deal with the fact that Soviet troops systematically raped 2 million German women and girls upon the defeat of Nazi Germany (including Jewish women!). (Incidentally, the Allies had nothing to be proud of themselves concerning the rape of women by their soldiers.) Others simply don't want to hear about their country's dark record because it's so unpleasant. Some already know about it, but don't want to think about it.

These are just reasons obvious to anyone. But I really don't know the answer to your question.

I wonder if coldjoint ever thumbs down any other member's posts (a cowardly anonymous practice). I bet he doesn't. He makes his disagreements public instead of taking the coward's way. I've noticed none of those who respond to him in an insulting way are thumbed down, although his posts are usually thumbed down. I also know that JTT doesn't use the thumbing feature, which he (editorial "he") rightly characterizes as being only for cowards and children. That would mean that the anonymous thumber-downer (who probably is a self-professed "progressive") is less of a gentleman than either coldjoint or JTT, who are * gasp * unpopular among the cliquish A2K members.

I recently called out Romeo Fabulini for making an incredibly insensitive remark saying that American blacks should be grateful that their ancestors were brought to the U.S. as slaves. As a Christian, I condemned the racism that once was almost universally embraced by white believers. I later noticed that Romeo (whom I have on "Ignore") had replied to my post, but that my post had received a "thumbs up." A day or two later, I had apparently received a "thumbs down," resulting in a 1 instead of a 2. I don't believe Romeo was the one who thumbed me down. I'm forced to conclude that I was thumbed down by a "progressive." Amazing, isn't it? I had taken a position that would be pleasing to "progressives"; but I got a "thumbs down" anyway either because the member disagreed with me on a single issue or because the member carries a personal grudge against me. Pathetic! Whoever you are, you're nothing but a coward. Think about it: Coldjoint and JTT are better than you! If I ever met you in real life and knew who and what you were, I wouldn't give you the time of day.

If the wonderful thumbing feature did not provide anonymity, but indicated the identity of the member using it (as does the "Like" feature at Facebook), there would be far fewer "thumbs down" because the cowards would be afraid to make themselves known. Again, that means that coldjoint and JTT deserve far more respect than these unknown thumber-downers; and, again, I say "Pathetic!"

Why any adult would "thumb up" OR "thumb down" any thread or post amazes me. It is childish.

Why anyone would care in any way...or pay any attention whatsoever to the practice, is even more mystifying to me, Bill.

It is a feature that should be done away with...or ignored by community.

So your standard is if the intelligence community tells the WH something and they repeat it to the public then the WH gets a pass? Funny how that doesn't seem to be your standard all the time.

At least I have standards. You just confirmed that. You are still comparing wrongs as if they should just cancel each other out. And in this instance you would have to give Congress a pass as both sides agreed, unlike Obamacare.

Apples to oranges, partisan and bipartisan. Obama is a lying, bullying political hack.

Can you believe that Cycloptichorn advanced the ludicrous notion that the USA wasn't a terrorist nation, Parados?

When Blacks Voted 80 Percent Dem, Malcolm X Called Them 'Chumps'

Quote:
Yet Democrats, said Malcolm X, failed to deliver on a promised and much anticipated new civil rights bill, knowing the party could still count on their blind support in the next election.

"You put them first," said Malcolm X, "and they put you last. 'Cause you're a chump. A political chump! ... Any time you throw your weight behind a political party that controls two-thirds of the government, and that party can't keep the promise that it made to you during election time, and you are dumb enough to walk around continuing to identify yourself with that party -- you're not only a chump but you're a traitor to your race."

What would Malcolm X say about today's 95 percent black vote? Did the Democratic Party keep its promises to promote family stability, push education and encourage job creation?

Wow. The Democrats are clearly not helping blacks, they simply pay them which promotes irresponsibility and dependence.

When President Lyndon Johnson launched the War on Poverty in 1965, 24 percent of black babies were born to unmarried mothers. Today that number is 72 percent.
