@gungasnake,
In 1955 any kind of sex was widely viewed as a perversion and was rare. The 1950s in the US was a particularly sexually repressed decade. Of course oral sex has been around for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians drew it on pottery and the Romans depicted it on coins.

The 1950s was a pretty fucked up time. This is why we needed the 1960s.

@maxdancona,
The 50's needed the 60's the way an impacted colon needs a firehose enema.

@Finn dAbuzz,
I strongly disagree with you Finn.

The 1950s in the US were a cesspool of sexual repression, bigotry and hypocrisy. It was a phony decade, a plastic vaneer that covered over some real ugliness; rape was tolerated, bigotry was defended. There were lynchings in the 1950s.

The 1960s had the best of the US from the dramatic social changes inspired by heroes like Martin Luther King, the end of racist immigration laws (including the Asian exclusion act) and the triumph of moon landing.

The 1960s weren't all good they were a time of upheaval. But given the repression, injustice and institutional racism that was the 1950s, we needed it.

As a kid in the Britain of the 1950's I remember how every so often a murder case would be all over the news, and the whole nation would be feverishly and gleefully discussing whether he'd be found guilty and hung at the end of the trial.
Sometimes it'd be a woman in the dock, and the country went into an excited overdrive such as when Ruth Ellis was strung up riddling her two-timing lover with bullets.
Sadly Britain later abolished the death penalty so now people haven't got any more sensational murder trials culminating in good hangings to look forward to...(sigh)...

I don't see what death has to do with this topic.

@maxdancona,
The decade of the 50s was the best life middle-class Americans ever had and there were several reasons for that. We produced pretty much everything we needed; middle class people bought new cars every three or four years, lived in houses, and raised children and took vacations on one income. There were jobs for women who wanted them but most women were in the business of raising children.

There were no wars while Ike was in office. Peace, Progress, and Prosperity. And rising tides lift all boats. Blacks and other minorities were seeing improvements in their lives as well. The democrat party was still basically patriotic in those years and had not gone totally rogue as it has now. The democrats in fact had made a major effort to weed the real commies out of their own house so that by the time JFK came to office, that problem was in remission.

There was nobody trying to blow up dams or shut down the Central Valley for the sake of lizards or fish in 1955. There was no Gaea worship or other forms of idolatry to wreck our economy. Gasoline was $.22/gallon.

Basically, all normally people were better off than they are now. Assholes and perverts (like you) were better off economically, the only real beef they might have had involved not being allowed to be quite as open or prideful about being assholes or perverts.

What a shame, poor Christians could no longer glorify State Sanctioned Murder so they were forced to watch something else like “Are You Being Served” Rolling Eyes

Open a free Photobucket account, upload your pic to it, then copy and paste the IMG code into your post

@anonymously99stwin,
The picture has to exist somewhere on the internet first i.e. you can't simply upload an image file from your computer to a forum like a2k. Loading images to a photobucket.com account is one possibility, another is to simply find images you like on the net. Next step is to wrap the internet location for your picture around [img] [/img] tags.

It's not easy, at least compared to email. At first, by making it relatively difficult the mavens hoped to minimize the loss of bits and bites. As digital technology progressed however, solid-state speeded up and shrunk so it should now be made easier
