You know what kills me about this thread... is that U.S. politics by every standard is way right of normal.
The only thing that is left of normal is the reformation of your pot laws. And that has not in anyway been influenced by the government.
While the rest of the planet, save the odd dictatorship or fanatical Islamic nation, has done away with the death penalty, you and this select group still kill and imprison great swaths of your population. even kids, hell it's an institution.
And while the rest of us, the western world, enjoy progressive women's and gay rights, more and more of your jurisdictions are working to actively restrict theirs.
Left.. hardly. You worship the rich and in doing so impoverish more and more.

The right pisses and moans about the state of our country...but the far right has had more influence on the direction of our country during the last five decades than the left.

BY FAR.

Where we are...the troubles we have...are almost all of the right's making.

They are the influence causing most of the problems they piss and moan about.

Oh you poor poor dears, Frank. It must be tough. Perhaps the people of Iraq and Afghanistan can start sending you Care packages.

That 's like saying that during the last 5O years,
our accountants have been more successfully accurate.
The purpose of being on the right (i.e., conservative)
is to be orthodox in steadfastly, literally clinging
to the subject matter of the conservation, to wit: the US Constitution,
including its Bill of Rights, which disables government 37 different ways,
operating to the glory of Individual freedom.

@OmSigDAVID,
How did you ever pass the bar exam, Om?

The USC has been radically changed a number of times. You're just repeating an empty headed meme.

What's new?

American conservatism has done more to harm the American experiment than liberalism ever will.

American conservatism is a cancer on society.

@coldjoint,
That's not surprising at all. Thinking people support prison reform. Hell, even Texas is doing prison reform.

Repugs - think Joe Arpaio

Neither is it surprising that the vast majority of usa war criminals and terrorists support the Repugs.

Yeah sure. They are not in jail are they? Or have they been in jail. When is the last time we tried an American war criminal or terrorist?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The USA never tries its war criminals and terrorists. It gives them pensions and awards, pretends they were statesman (reagan) and allows them to live the life of Reilly.

That's a big part of why the USA is such an evil entity and an incredibly hypocritical one.

@McGentrix,
McG is right, Frank, at least in that you didn't go far enough.

American conservatism is a cancer on the world.

Not that that absolves American "liberals". Many of them are not much different than the cons.

Democrat John Kerry, America's current Secretary of State-

http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/4489/kerrys.jpg

“Listing all the weapon systems that Senator Kerry tried his best to shut down sounds like an auctioneer selling off our national security but Americans need to know the facts.
The B-1 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, dropped 40 percent of the bombs in the first six months of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The B-2 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered air strikes against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Hussein’s command post in Iraq.
The F-14A Tomcats, that Senator Kerry opposed, shot down Gaddafi’s Libyan MIGs over the Gulf of Sidra.
The modernized F-14D, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered missile strikes against Tora Bora.
The Apache helicopter, that Senator Kerry opposed, took out those Republican Guard tanks in Kuwait in the Gulf War.
The F-15 Eagles, that Senator Kerry opposed, flew cover over our Nation’s Capital after 9/11.
Kerry opposed the Patriot Missile that shot down Saddam Hussein’s scud missiles over Israel;
Kerry was against the Aegis air-defense cruiser;
Kerry was against the Strategic Defense Initiative;
Kerry was against against the Trident missile"

Wait I'm confused!
Bush was a Rep and people said he was a war criminal, yet Obama is a Dem and people are saying he's a war criminal too!
I'll never understand US politics!

The USA doesn't do defence. The USA is a virulently aggressive warring rogue nation.

U will not learn from him, Romeo.
JTT is demonstrably mentally sick and he has repudiated logic.
I have had him on Ignore for a long time.
I recommend use of the Ignore feature of A2K against his pernicious worthlessness.
