Firstly, Don't care what people on the subway think because, secondly, they don't care what you think or are reading. New Yorkers are into their own thing and really don't see each other.....I am a native born New Yorker.

One of my weaknesses is for Charles Dickens and Jane Austin British themes. A few years back I watched Charles Dickens' "Bleak House" on PBS. I so enjoyed it the next day I immediately picked it up from the book store on my lunch hour. I was perusing it at my desk when one of my professors came in and expressed surprise that I was reading this very thick paperback of "Bleak House." He went on to explain he'd watched "Bleak House" the previous Sunday night on TV.....This professor was in his 50s at the time. Anyway, Jane Austen is recognized as one of the most important English writers of her time, famous for works like Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, and other works.

I have added to my DVD collection the latest version of "Pride and Prejudice" with the actor: Colin Firth and Jennifer Elie. Today on Amazon it's only $14 dollars but when I purchased it, about 7 years ago, I paid over $60.

For generations, this blond brick Catholic elementary school tossed a lifeline to the immigrants who, wave upon wave, washed ashore here. The Archdiocese of Newark closed it two years ago. Church officials offered deep regrets; the church’s wallet is thin to the touch these days.

“It was a loved place, that school,” said Dorothy Gawronski, a crossing guard holding a red “Stop” sign. “But the church, I don’t think it’s rich anymore.”

All of which brings me along a winding and narrow road that switches back and forth across the wooded Capoolong Creek to a splendid 8.5-acre spread in the hamlet of Pittstown. This is rural and rather affluent Hunterdon County, 49 miles from Mater Dei.

Two actually, the USA and the RC church. But it is extremely difficult to look up to such rank hypocrisy and perfidy.

Yes MiT but Eddie, in his own mind, which he didn't create, thinks he's saving the country and that it is all this surveillance stuff that hurts the US. And he's a minnow and the NSA is a giant. And he has taken grave risks which the other side daren't do.

Okay--well--the jury is listening. And it's a bigger jury than could be got into all the stadiums of the world. And counsel for both sides are as good as can be got. And the jury is split down the middle. Which, as I understand it, means not guilty. And in the jury are some judges.

The guy in Norway who has put Eddie up for the Big Gong in the World Peace section (have you seen the news lately?), is getting his card marked with his supporters. Norway having no facilities to compare to yours you see. Being spied on, knowing it, and not being able to spy back is pretty bloody undignified I should have thought.

Do you think the Nobel Committee concerned with World Peace will be leaned upon to reject the proposal? If the Ukraine can be leaned upon while the US sits on its hands, as John Bolton is claiming it is doing, then so can Norway. And Syria. Which Mr McCain plenty to say about.

If you had an idea of where an unhindered NSA leads in, say, 50 years, you might not be as sure as you seem to be. Maybe less than 50 years. It is unhindered without Eddie.

Do you want to know where where is? It a position where it can no longer be controlled by anything. Oswald Spengler predicted the position, in the 1920s, for about the middle of this century.

There might have been a number of "Eddies" sleeping in the NSA but it happened that Eddie saw a particular movie, or read something, which kicked Eddie over the edge first. He's damn near a Publius Horatius Cocles who disobeyed the order to retreat and let them have the ******* bridge.

Funny thing is technology. Some new thing comes out such as a camera small enough to conceal and is very useful for all sorts of approved of things. Such as a stump camera at cricket which enables us to see what a 93 mph round missile looks like coming at your eyes. Or for a tour around the colonic passageways. Excellent. Then it gets mass produced cheaply and is available for those who have uses for it which are not approved of.

I am absolutely ecstatic that you've posed these questions to JTT, a poster who posts absolutely nothing about himself! Yet, this poster has EVERYTHING to say about others! The poster is well-known for his monomaniacal annoyingly persistent criticism of the US. He/She/they use the pronoun "y'all" frequently which is a vernacular expression of southern US which leads one to believe he/she/they hail from some southern state. He seems so obsessed with his critical hostility of the US that something terrible in America must have happened to him; yet, if he hates America so much why the rigid preoccupation with this country....why not pretend it doesn't exist and not talk about it incessantly?! JTT's engrossment (continuous criticism) with the US leads one to believe he is an out-patient.

Look, one doesn't mind US being criticized; I remain one of the US most strident critics, but there are other happenings in the world, and what JTT is doing is abnormal.
