My guess is that the vast majority of diplomacy is conducted between parties who have name near NO trust for each other.
But this is another distraction...as is all the talk about the motivation for the spying (which seems more likely to me to be a need for intelligence than that other nonsense.)
The fact is that Snowden apparently has broken several laws in the United States...and it is, in my opinion, imperative for America to try him on those charges.
