Indeed. Walter's English is far better than many of our native speakers.

I always wonder re those who bitch about other languages being spoken (and legally recognized) in the U.S.: Do you speak any other languages? Or is the case, plain old English is good enough for you, so it should be for everyone else?

Fu-k that. France tried to be politically correct. Look what that bought them. Wake up.

Don't spoil their PC delusions, CJ - put those rose-coloured glasses right back on again and don't be such a spoil-sport damned racist! Cool

These blind two-faced white men are really something else. How good is your Chippewa or your Cherokee, CJ?

And Herberts, I suspect that you and your family are fully conversant in all the aboriginal languages of Australia.

Why shouldn't the driving test be in Swahili or Tagalog or Spanish or whatever language is necessary to serve a large immigrant population. It's a test for a drivers license. It's not a F**KING language test.

The child left behind suggests that France's problems are because they haven't forced a language on immigrants.

Problems concerning racism arise because of racists like you. You're so petrified by differences. You can only tolerate the close-minded narrowness of your own kind.

Wow! chichan, don't be so bashful - tell us what you really think, won't yoυ... ?! http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif

Naughty, naughty, Geronimo... with the very first sentence of your holier-than-thou tirade you've managed to resort to the evils of racist stereo-typing! How utterly typical of someone from a coloured minority background.

But I'll come clean with you, chichan - I'm probably just as much a damned racist as you are, but for precisely the opposite reason. While your bitch is all about resenting the success of First World white society -- my bitch, meanwhile, is that so many of you hypocrites of the aboriginal communities are so busy agitating on behalf of minority Victimhood Industries you don't have time to get off the dole to go work for a living just like them white bastards do.

Trust me chichan when I tell you that the success of Australia as a First World nation situated south of a dozen Third World Asian societies where disease and poverty and official corruption is rampant owes nothing to the aboriginal culture or language.

My sentiment exactly, McTag.

chichan - could you please be so good as to conduct your racist diatribe elsewhere where it is more appropriate.

(Sheesh, I swear these damned racists are multiplying in the dark like wire coat-hangers at the back of the wardrobe...)

What really hacks me off is tht thought that racists can't or won't use the good, old, traditional expletives which were good enough for our fathers . . . whatever happened to wog and greaser, i ask you?

By far my pet peeve re the English language is it's ridiculously contradictory and chaotic spelling.

Trying to spell words correctly has been the bane of my life - a tiresome chore of endlessly needing to scuff my way through thick dictionaries in a never-ending search for which of a half-dozen variations of spelling is correct for a particular word.

If you do not possess an eidetic memory then this is a life-long chore which you are saddled with for needing to write in English.

The Croatians have the very best of all spelling systems: without mischievous variations or silly exceptions - how a word is pronounced is exactly how it is written. Stand up and take a bow Croatia!

Itchy homo... shouldn't you be down at the public baths or getting your legs waxed or something... ? http://www.xtrememass.com/forum//images/smilies/1203/kekekegay.gif

Please, McTag and I are trying to bring some semblance of order here.

What is your chief beef about the English language, Santana?

What an utterly stupid assumption to draw, Herberts. Why am I not surprised? Ignorance in one area is so often indicative of ignorance in others. I'm as white as they come. My remarks were not intended for all white folk, just the abysmally ignorant ones.

I am as white as a sheet.

From my limited contact with you I can clearly see that virtually everyone short of a Richard Butler could easily lay claim to being holier than thou.

This tripe needn't be addressed. Drivel that issues from the mouths of admitted racists can simply be condemned. There's no easy way to say this; you're an ignorant person, Herberts, a dyed in the wool low-life.

That has nothing to do with it at all, Herberts and I'm pretty sure that any explanation would be lost on the likes of you. Trying to raise a body like yours out of such a state of profound ignorance is a task that I'm going to leave to others.

I'm done here. You're coming "clean" here has left me desperately in need of a shower.

chichan... I have it on good authority that McTag will have me placed on house-arrest if I should dare to venture one further comment of a racist nature in this particular thread.

So I'm leaving the Last Word to the beautiful Damnmaracas from Boston...

I hate it when people say 'Haitch' instead of 'aitch'.

I think that should attract a mandatory sentence of instant deportation back to Ireland. http://www.xtrememass.com/forum//images/smilies/1214/cooleek3.gif

And any Australian who says 'plant' instead of 'plarnt' should be forcibly removed to the US of A where they can bleat this ugly noise as often as they like without irritating me and the good people of South Australia...

pla-a-a-a-a-nt[/i]. God! it's an ugly sound. I'm thinking of emigrated from Sydney to Adelaide where them folk speak proper...

Well that's an interesting distinction, difficult though it is to convey a sound in print. I'm no expert on phonetics....the ones in the dictionary tie me in knots.

Certainly here, there are many regional differences in pronunciation, typical of which is the way northerners and southerners say "bath". I'm not sure there is a right and wrong, but certainly some sounds seem to grate with some people.

Have you noticed (and I'm guilty of this myself, to my shame) that some people tend to change their delivery (however unconsciously) depending on who they are addressing?
