@usmankhalid665,
Not sure I understand you mate.
This verse from the Koran says "fight unbelievers", so are you saying muslims should ignore the verse?
[Koran 9.123] "O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard against evil"

@Romeo Fabulini,
The Quran states that Muslims may "Fight in the cause of God against those who fight against you, but do not transgress limits. Lo! God loves not aggressors..." (2:190)

@Romeo Fabulini,
Civilian slaughter is clearly forbidden: "Let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression" (2:193).

@Romeo Fabulini,
Suicide is also clearly forbidden: "Make not your hands contribute to (your) destruction; but do good; for God loves those who do good" (2:194)

You confuse me Romeo. Have you missed these:
Quote:
(Romans 1:1) 1 Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ and called to be an apostle,. . .
Quote:
(1 Corinthians 7:22) . . . For anyone in [the] Lord that was called when a slave is the Lord’s freedman; likewise he that was called when a freeman is a slave of Christ.
Quote:
(Galatians 1:10) . . .If I were yet pleasing men, I would not be Christ’s slave.
Quote:
(Galatians 6:17) . . .Henceforth let no one be making trouble for me, for I am carrying on my body the brand marks [of a slave] of Jesus.
Even Jesus considered himself a slave.
Quote:
(Philippians 2:7) . . .he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men. . .
Quote:
(Colossians 1:7) . . .That is what YOU have learned from Ep′a·phras our beloved fellow slave, who is a faithful minister of the Christ on our behalf,
Quote:
(Colossians 3:24) . . .SLAVE for the Master, Christ.
Quote:
(Colossians 4:7) . . .Tych′i·cus, [my] beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow slave in [the] Lord. .
Quote:
(Colossians 4:12) . . .Ep′a·phras, who is from among YOU, a slave of Christ Jesus. . .
I skipped about a dozen here:
Quote:
(Revelation 1:1) . . .A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. And he sent forth his angel and presented [it] in signs through him to his slave John,
And, of course, angels are slaves
Quote:
(Revelation 19:10) . . .But he tells me: “Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and of your brothers . . .
So, I suppose being a mate of Jesus means more than riding in his motorcycle club, eh?
Quote:
(Matthew 7:21-23) . . .“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

That fits with the idea that the proper translation of "carpenter" was an architect builder and that Jesus was well fixed before he took up His mission.

All the quotes are after the event reports for political purposes but the translation of "carpenter" is likely true.

Guys, guys, the Greek word "doulos" had multiple meanings such as servant, slave, attendant, bondsman etc.
For example if we look at this verse in context- "he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:7)

we find that in 46 English Bible translations of the verse, the word "slave" is only used 15 times, and the words "servant, bondservant and servant" no less than 31 times, including the King James..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
Nevertheless, you cannot be Jesus' friend if you are not doing his will. If you are doing his will, then you are a slave by choice.

Works for me.

@neologist,
Jesus said he wants friends, NOT slaves or servants (John 15:15)..Smile
And he underlined it by saying- "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matt 20:28)

@Romeo Fabulini,
Jesus may not call us slaves. But we cannot be his friends if we are not doing his will. We don't get to pick and choose. In that sense, I am his servant (Matthew 11:23)

@RexRed,
We are all sinners, Rex; none any better or worse than another. It is our attitude towards the truth that defines us.

@RexRed,
No wonder you are making little headway Rex.

Do you not yet know that virtue gets shat upon. It's your teachers fault for hiding de Sade from your view.

The lesson of the NT is not to get too good at it.

So if I meet a nice JW lady would she be allowed to marry me even though I'm not a JW?

“God and the Gay Christian: The Biblical Case in Support of Same Sex Relationships” by Matthew Vines. Published by Convergent Books.

Ha ha, same-sex couples can't make babies, so I'm sure God doesn't want the human race to die out!
And why has the guy written a long book to push his claim when all he had to do was produce a few solid Bible verses in support?
Obviously the book is full of airy-fairy padding and out-of-context verse-twisting to pander to perverts.
He can't get under the Bible's radar-
"Ignorant people distort things, to their own destruction" (2 Pet 3:16/17)

Let Jesus have the final word-
"..at the beginning the Creator made them male and female,and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' So they are no longer two, but one." (Matt 19:4)
