You want to get that firmly fixed in you're head

I've always had him down as a dancer going round and round the maypole like some others at A2K!
Nothing wrong with that of course, hell I even join in myself sometimes to prod them along and keep them dancing..Wink

Nope...no May Pole, Romeo...although it does look like fun.

Just some decent arguments...and some decent questions.

I favor the decent questions, because when it starts getting difficult to respond reasonably...the person to whom the question was directed gets to really look at his position.

@Frank Apisa,
I won't mention names, but some mischievous A2Kers like to phrase questions in a way that makes them un-answerable so that they can sit back with grins on their faces bigger than waves on slop buckets thinking "Ha ha, stumped 'em!"

For example a smarty-pants once asked Isaac Asimov "What would happen if an irresistible force met an immoveable object?", to which Asimov humiliated him by replying- "The question makes no sense and therefore requires no answer"..Smile

Some people don't realize their questions "makes no sense, and therefore requires no answer." Mr. Green

Yeah...and some people try to pretend answerable questions are that kind of question, Romeo.

The fact that my bitch, ci, is sticking with you should cause you to question yourself.

Loved Asimov, by the way!

Poor old ci. Used as a benchmark of contempt for no particular reason. None offered anyway.

I hope you feel suitably insulted Romeo.

Cicerone and me are kindred warriors, he's got Samurai blood and i've got Viking blood..Smile
Incidentally Asimov once put forward the intriguing idea that the Flood may have been caused by a huge meteor strike in the Indian Ocean, washing the Ark north into the Mt Ararat region.

Really Frank? I thought you were more mature than that?

Do not get me wrong because I see where you have a right to be upset.

Neither you or CI are stupid in my opinion but you both are like me and act out at times.

Why cant the both of you respond in an intellectual way without the emotional out burst? My guess is because we are all emotional animals.

You have made comments about fresco being pragmatic and my question to you is "Could we all be in a flux, such as us all being naive realists and also being somewhat pragmatic at times?

I read what I wrote to my wife and she asked could we all be drinking or stoned? I thought that there could be some truth there but I do wonder.

Really? Are you suggesting that in your hemisphere that the grass is greener on the other side?

Have you ever seen what happens to a bull when his horns get caught up in a fence? I can give you a clue. "The other bulls have their way with him.

What do you think? Do you think that the wave had no choice other than to send it north? Why couldn't it have sent it south, east or west? or maybe it never took place?

@neologist,
He thinks outside the box, it makes the bible easier to read when you fill the gaps between the words with a few of your own. I mean (HAHA) if you (LOL) actually read it straight up, how are you supposed to make it say what you want it to?

The tidal wave of course. If you are going to kill every living thing on the earth with rain certainly you are going to have some fun doing it?

I have attempted during the last few years to be as polite and reasonable in my responses as possible. I do not...and have not called anyone dumb, or stupid, or ignorant.

But a couple of individuals have taken every opportunity to be unpleasant (not only to me, but to many of the people with whom they talk)...and to question my intelligence and my motives in ways that are unnecessarily insulting. ci is one of those people.

I gave these perpetually nasty guys as much room as possible to move off their nonsene...and I strove to be friendly in several posts to them. But with some, the insults never seemed to stop.

Those people have used up all their "be reasonable, Frank" time with me.

ci seems almost unable to make a post without calling the people with whom he is in disagreement "stupid" or "idiot." That is not happening to me anymore...without a retaliation. And since he is doing his insulting in the way he is...he IS my bitch and will continue to be treated as my bitch.

Yes, it is uncomfortable for others to hear the kind of reaction you mention. I accept that it will. I also accept that it shows a bit of immaturity in me.

I suspect that we all can act from a pragmatic and naive realistic position at times. Fresco seems to be certain that non-duality HAS TO BE the state.

I do not know. I certainly do not ever say that it cannot be (because of course it can)...but it is also possible that the "naive realists" (for whom he shows such obvious scorn)...MAY BE closer to the truth than he.

So my answer to your question is: Yup!

Anyone who witnessed the spat Apisa had with some atheists will laugh to read that. He flounced off A2K for a few years at the end of it.
