It woud not matter; same result.
Thay coud MAKE their own guns if thay had to,
or use underground gunsmiths. Handmade guns go back for centuries
before electric tools became available.
Its much easier and faster now. Paladin Press on Home Made

I don't know enough about the parents of the shooters to be able to make a judgment about them. Perhaps they can't be blamed for what their sons did. Rex, I wouldn't be surprised if the parents actually had little in common with David in terms of their political views. You're actually insulting David when you ask such a question. You're better than that. Wink

Is it WISE to hang around in the general area
after a predatory emergency (assuming that u have survived it) ?

Consider a George Zimmerman kind of situation:
i.e., that u get jumped un-expectedly
and then u succeed in killing your predator, as he did.

Zimmy had NO CHOICE in deciding whether to stay there,
because of witnesses to the event, but if u r entirely confident
that predators (be thay human or animal) attacked u
in fully isolated circumstances, devoid of witnesses,
then shud u hang around there, awaiting the arrival of authorities??

Altho Zimmy was adjudicated to have been 1OO% innocent,
he is putatively indebted to his lawyers for $2,5OO,OOO.oo,
just for the trial, with no appeal expenses. There r people who
don t make that much in their whole careers, from high school thru retirement.

Note that if u decide to leave the scene discreetly,
then it is not to your advantage to have used an automatic
to defend and preserve your existence, because automatics
have the un-sanitary habit of spitting out shells onto the ground
that will remain there, unless u have been 1OO% successful in policing your brass.
U might leave with sneaking doubts qua whether u got every last shell
from the grass or not. Revolvers present u with NO SUCH PROBLEM,
in addition to the fact that revolvers r a lot more dependable than automatics.
Q.E.D.: revolvers are much better weapons for personal defense than automatics.

I think that revolvers r what Nature (and Sam Colt) intended.

ANYWAY, any comments on whether u shud stay there, as Zimmy did,
if there were no witnesses, or leave, fully respecting your privacy ?????

@RexRed,
That's funny, it says 'Guns', then Stephen King writes allegedly "Semi-automatics".

Sounds like your liberal army enjoys twisting the context of people's words.

I like some of the work of Mr. King.
I bought some of his movies,
but OBVIOUSLY, he has no idea of what he is talking about
in this quote. There is no more "vapor" issued from the muzzle
of an automatic than there is from a revolver. I doubt that
automatics fire faster than revolvers. Automatics are LESS RELIABLE than revolvers.
I own a few automatics (including a 194O 9mm German Luger P-'O8), but I prefer revolvers.
I avidly prefer a revolver over an automatic as my personal defense weapon.
Over the years, in my presence at gunnery ranges, no one has said: "yeehaw".
Mr. King's dictum is only bumbling & fumbling, with no relation to fact.
He coud not sustain that in cross-examination.
Most likely, he has never attended a gunnery range.

Note that I remain an intensely pro-choice conservative.

Well, after all, he is a writer of fiction.

But don't anyone get me wrong! I just loved Pet Sematary! During my wife's two pregnancies, I threatened to name a daughter of ours "Zelda" and a son "Gage." Mr. Green (Of course, she knew I was kidding.)

@OmSigDAVID,
Needless to say, he's written many compelling stories.

If I remember correctly, Carrie was based (at least in part) on a girl he knew in high school who was bullied horribly. King obviously has a lot of sympathy for kids.

In my post above, I wasn't meaning to denigrate him. He has many admirable traits. For example, once he was in New York City on his way to keep a business appointment. He was walking down the street when a gray-haired man recognized King and walked up to him. The man looked distressed. He told King that his teenage son was a big fan of his and had always wanted to meet him. He also told King that his son was in a hospital with a terminal illness and was expected to die in a few days or so. He pleaded with King to come visit his son. Stephen broke the business appointment and visited the teenager in the hospital -- who must have been astounded, indeed. He later said he just couldn't turn down the grief-stricken father's request.

I was not aware of that. The psycho-kinetic part ?

If it had been me, I 'd have completed the appointment first.

@RexRed,
Choosing sides only causes wars to spill over unconditionally. Balance is in order - order is not in balance.

Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Comment:
Are you for rape, unregulated banking shysters, politicians bought and paid for by dirty polluters, would you choose sides to protect your life?

I am a pacifist at heart yet I still know wars is sometimes necessary, but not the kind of sloppy war John McCain has in mind...

Choose sides wisely and try and inspire positive change from within based upon US constitutional law and not merely $.

@RexRed,
Or you can choose neither side and get on with your life, while they have no power.

Ever think of that?
