@RexRed,
We usually find liberals to hold the targets for us.

@RexRed,
No one in a state of normal mental health is preparing to for any revolution,
but what if obama declared a moratorium on ELECTIONS,
and if he used the Army to suspend Congress and the courts??

What if he declared that the Constitution were suspended??

In your opinion, is submission the appropriate response ?

(not implying that he has this in his plans)

OK, Rex. What is a "sensible" gun law ?

This is why we have police...

I thought of your ADVICE, Rex,
when I saw this news story:

Stalking Victim Begged Cops For Help 120 Times
Before Being Stabbed 8 Times

By Igor Derysh

May 5, 2014

Helen Pearson asked the police for help 120 times
over a five-year period during which she was stalked by Joe Willis.
She says they could have stopped his terror before Willis stabbed her
in a churchyard with a pair of scissors.

Police have arrested the 49-year-old Willis after he stabbed Pearson
eight times with a foot-long pair of scissors. The 34-year-old Pearson
says she may have been dead if not for the help of a passer-by who
stepped in to stop Willis.

Ms. Pearson says “the police had ample opportunity to catch him before he tried to kill me.”
[All emfasis has been added by David.]

Are u pleased that the victim took your advice
and left her guns at home (if she had any) ???

Note that the victim fully obayed EVERY gun control law, in addition to YOUR ADVICE.

Does this please u, Rex ?

@OmSigDAVID,
I provided Rex with several links to court decisions that showed that police are NOT obligated to protect anyone, but he ignored them since they don't agree with his mindset.

Police need "special ops"... units with different levels of public responsibility and rank.

The number of gun licenses issued in Tennessee
has nearly doubled between 2012 and 2013
.

According to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland
Security, the state issued 192,613 handgun carry licenses in 2013.
Of that 58,833 were given to women and 133,780 were given to men.
Compare that to 2012. That year the state issued a total of 114,031 licenses.
32,354 were given to women and 81,677 were given to men.

Tenn. Dept. of Safety and Homeland Security: Handgun Data

Sunday, Frontier Firearms in Kingston held a handgun carry license class.
Of the seven people in the class, Ruth Hogate of Knoxville was the only woman.
It's the first time she's taken a course to get her handgun carry license.

Hogate said, "Mostly for personal protection for my home or if I'm out.
I drive 50 minutes back and forth for work. I thought it would be safer
to have something for personal protection."

Wes Lovell has been teaching the handgun permit class for four years.
He said he's been noticing more women taking the course.

"There are more women taking classes for various reason.
A lot of them more for self-defense and to get familiar with their guns.
The ages of the women vary. I've had them in class from 21 years old,
which is the minimum age, to I've had them all the way up to right
about in their 70s or 80 years old."

Hogate feels many women want to avoid becoming a target for criminals
and her permit is the first step to protecting herself. She just hopes
she'll never have to use the weapon.

"I don't plan on it, but it's there in case I have to," Hogate said.

POINT OF INFORMATION, Rex ?

HOW do u propose to convince criminal predators, robbers, rapists, murderers (or animals) TO WAIT
until the "special ops Police" arrive, before inflicting their violence upon their un-armed victims ?????

Please reveal this unto us????

The special ops forces and their unique dedication could be a deterrent, like SWAT teams... Smile

The thing is you never know when you are going to encounter a special ops unit..

So there is no crime NOW,
because everyone is afraid of SWAT Teams ????????

THAT 's the reason that there has been no crime!!! Right ???

That was a very well written article. The president's comments on the situation were spot on.

And...nothing is going to happen to appreciably change things.

We can blame the NRA if we want to...but the problem is that way too many Americans have decided that owning guns is the one right that cannot be abridged in any way.

We, the People...are at fault.

Incidentally, the annual number of US deaths in traffic accidents is about 30,000, which is about the same number as gun deaths each year.
So why don't the govt ban cars?

Quote:
"The president explained that Congress will act once voters demand it,
though for now, lawmakers are “terrified of the NRA.”
THAT is DEMOCRACY IN ACTION, Rex !

Our Constitutional rights are safeguarded by the voters, themselves
( in addition to the USSC in the HELLER and the McDONALD cases. )

I think the fact that we are the only developed country where this happens...says more about the issue than your characterization of my remarks as "radical", David.
