That simply is not in the books.

In any case, there was a reason many "wild west" sheriffs required guns
to be checked at the sheriff's office when in town.

There were less shootings that way.
REALLY, Frank????
Whodathunkit????

Please reveal unto us
the source of your information regarding
HOW MANY FEWER shootings there were, Frank. We 'll truly appreciate that information.

Before we believe u,
we 'll need to look at your evidence; that 's fair.

Lots, lots more there if you really want it.
I checked your link.
It is not shown to be sourced from credible, respectible survays.
We cannot even GUESS how those numbers were gathered.
No one counted MY guns, but me. I hope that u r right,
and that America really DOES have more per capita guns,
but I see no credible evidence of that yet.

That 's the same as your saying that it is an "absurdity"

I've seen what you do with evidence, David. No need to jump through your hoops.

But I will ask you this: In a room with no guns in it...is it more or less likely for someone to get shot than in a room with 100 guns in it?

If you can come up with the right answer...try a regression. Let me know when the likelihood becomes more for the room with no guns in it.

That because you do not want to see. I originally told you to Google the issue...and you will find hundreds of sites citing the same information.

You are just playing a game here, David...and not especially well.

There was plenty to see...but you have decided not to see it, because it throws that thesis of yours into disarray.

Until the mid 19th century, the Samurai were allowed to kill peasants for the slightest slight. It most assuredly was not a safe or polite society. I asked you about this because the Samurai argue against your thesis...not for it. Thanks for helping me...that was kind of you.

That is even more an absurdity, David...but it was funny. Thanks for the laugh. It is a gorgeous day...but I have to cart my aunts around shopping today rather than play golf. I needed that laugh.

Thanks.

Actually, I got out for nine holes after finishing with the aunts...and hit a few decent shots. Some of the other shots, however, provided some chuckles also.

I like gunshots. I TRULY DO!

My mind has been locked onto guns
since age 3, or earlier. I had to wait 5 years.
Now, I have all I want.

That sounds amazingly like a joke we pot smokers used to tell often:

I used to have a drug problem...

...but now I can afford all I want.

@RexRed,
Does he count as a special interest group and big money donor? Outside money that is trying to influence state and local elections to get his ideas passed as laws for others to follow?

He can go and waste his money as far as I'm concerned. I know how well his big money did here in Colorado during the recall elections for the anti-gun politicians. In fact his money was doing so well that the 3rd politician that was set to be recalled quit the race and allowed someone one to be appointed by our Democrat Governor.

Bloomberg is not offering his millions to take away rights but to save rights.

People should not have to defend their lives...

We might all agree about that Rex up to a point. What a society would look like in which nobody felt any need to defend themselves is not easy to discern.

Fox News last night said that the US has no appetite for more gun control and that few politicians are prepared to take the matter any further than the existing state of affairs.

Rhode Island took on the gun lobby and WON!

Two to one, voters in Exeter, RI overwhelmingly voted against the recall, and they sent a powerful message to the gun lobby: we support legislators who support our public safety.
