@Frank Apisa,
(Before answering your question
AGAIN,
I will question that America has more guns
per capita
than anywhere else; we have only your word for that.)
I
DID actually answer the question.
U just dont get the applicable concept.
In addition to re-iterating what I already told u,
by way of even further supportive explanation for your comprehension:
the concept is that
so many people go around un-armed that there is no
presumption of armament in the citizenry, neither predators nor prey.
(That is
NOT true
everywhere.)
Many people (including me) who have made it a practice of being armed
in their own defense make a particular point of
NOT brandishing their ordnance
and disfavor discussion of personal matters of armament, while face-to-face,
for security reasons.
Have u forgotten what happened to the beloved florist Dion O'Banion ?
He let it be known that he always carried 3 handguns; his tailor
had sewn in 3 pockets into his suits to accomodate their wear.
During the final moments of his Earthly life, a customer entered Dion 's flower shop
and he
most effusively proceeded to shake hands with Dion. While so engaged,
2 men
flanked Dion and executed remote acts of surgery upon him without
his informed consent. Dion failed to survive the lethal handshake.
The moral of the story is: don t let others know
your personal protective stance qua defensive ordnance.
I suspect that a lot of citizens deem that to be wise.
