@Frank Apisa,
A lot of what going on?
Seriously, peculiar phenomenon of A2K imitating real life. I'm dealing with this very issue of memory loss and confusion with my oldest sister who's 78. My next oldest sister (65) and I also live in same city as her. We have just moved her into an assisted living facility for safe keeping. She was becoming a hazardous to her own safety with her living alone in her own home and also with driving. Processing time and reaction time has markedly changed for the worse.
She just recently permanently burned up a microwave by putting a metal dish for nuking. Set off all the smoke detectors on her floor, too. When asked about it, she shrugged her shoulders and asked how that could have happened. She couldn't believe it was her.
At some point in the day, generally, we can have a reasonable conversation with her, complete with humor and some awareness. Then, after a variable interval of anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, she'll ask the same questions again. We're hoping that a neurologist appointment will shed some light on this recent abrupt change. We think there were some 'silent' TIAs that occured.
