Who Smells a Rat?

What do you do when your scientific journal publishes a study that Monsanto doesn’t like? And the industry bombards you with complaints?

You hire a new editor. And retract the study.

BREAKING: Win for Forests!!

Last night, the world's largest palm oil trader Wilmar International committed to end its role in forest destruction! This could be a much-needed break for Indonesia's forests, and the Sumatran tigers that call them home.

Wilmar moved because the world was watching, and the global movement demanding palm oil free from forest destruction is growing. So we will keep watching until we’re sure they turned words into action.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: Despite the fact that honeybee colonies are collapsing around the world, the EPA has approved an extremely toxic pesticide that has been linked to massive colony die-offs. Now beekeeping organizations have teamed up with Earthjustice to sue the EPA. http://ow.ly/rwBbp

The pesticide, sulfoxaflor, has been granted full registration for most crops in the US despite its risk to honeybees, the beekeeping industry and the nearly one-third of all crops that depend in some part on bee pollination (over $14 billion dollars worth of crops).

I bought some Hannaford Berry juice today and it has sucralose in it, tastes like crap. I could taste it the moment I took the first sip. It is written in tiny letters in the ingredients "sucralose" but not a word on the labeling about artificial sugar in it or it being a "diet" drink. WTF!!!!???? I will be dumping this stuff down the drain and complaining LOUDLY to Hannaford about their shoddy product labeling.

Is Epicyte Gene That Causes Sterility In The GMO Corn You Eat?
http://gmoreport.blogspot.com/2013/08/is-epicyte-gene-that-causes-sterility.html

I consider this an act of war... What people are known for the pronounced consumption of corn but Mexicans and native Americans?

This is poising the food supply of our neighbor Mexico who have the good sense to try and ban these US corn products. What about the corn consumed by US Mexicans, natives which also include non natives?

I would like to know how this is not intentional??!!

ONE BILLION POUNDS OF PESTICIDES are applied to crops annually in the United States. Ten to twenty thousand farmworkers are injured by pesticides on the job every year in the US. Short-term effects of pesticide exposures can include skin and eye injuries, nausea, headaches, respiratory problems, and even death.

Long-term exposure on the job can increase the risk of serious chronic health problems such as cancer, birth defects, neurological impairments and Parkinson’s disease for farmworkers, their families, and their children.

“It is long past time for farmworkers to get the same workplace protections that most other Americans in the workplace do,” said Eve Gartner, attorney for Earthjustice. “We encourage the EPA to strengthen and bolster a safeguard that will help protect those who are on the frontlines of our food system.”
