I have ten umbrelllas.....

Little ones are better than big ones. Two people can walk side by side with two small umbrellas. Two people can walk side by side under a big umbrellas but they have to be in lurve.

Oh, boy, tomorrow is MONDAY.

We don't need a deluge for cabs to be unavailable. It's an old Noo Yawk truism. Three drops of rain, and every cab is either off duty or taken. Three snowflakes, and they disappear completely.

I bet you got back to Brooklyn before I got home--ten blocks away.

Heather treated us to a bottle of wine for my bday at the Cameron room at Grand Central after we left you guys. Today it's the highline with joe nation!

I remember one of my first days in NYC walking over to the fairly nearby Duane Reade to buy an umbrella before I went to the Met museum, as rain was forecast and the sky ominous. I came out of the drugstore to a deluge, opened the umbrella, which immediately flipped inside out (yes, I know you can buy umbrellas that don't do that or do that easily). I struggled to get the thing back to normal and got totally soaked. When the umbrella was in normal mode, I tried to hail a cab, like a2kers showed me the day before. Phalanxes of cabs ignored me, many phalanxes. What?

Finally one stopped. Such a pleasure to get in that cab. A new york experience.

What a beautiful day we had! Spent the entire day with tour-guide Joe(I'm your man) Nation and what a great tour guide/host/friend. To all of us. Love that man!!! Highline, Frying Pan! Chelsea! Staten Island. All in one day! And we all can't wait til wednesday at his place for the par-Tay........ Thanks, joe!

Oh, yes...gather around you, if you can, vibrant people.
I had the best day today. Mame, Sheila and Shelly are the best tourists New York City had seen in some days.
We wandered, we gaped, we oohed, we wondered.
(Pamela got the Pan to send another lunch to Sheila after the beef she ordered turned out to be more tendon than tender.)
AND we made circles and got a little lost a couple of times.
There was a lot of laughter.
There were a lot of hugs.

I'm here! Apparently my suitcase was not as anxious to come as I was, because it took a later flight. But it's here now. Hotel is old and small, but in a good location from what we can tell. Fun starts tomorrow! ... Unless you count the taxi from the airport, in which case the excitement has already begun!

Just came in from dinner with Eva, her sister and Thomas at PietraSantra which I am happy to say they liked.

Now to bed, I have some cooking to do in the morning before therapy.
