@roger,
What are you trying to say roger? The two quotes are exactly the same so I have no idea how you got to your conclusion.

@parados,
Note just how often I call someone a liar. I blew the quote, you did pull your dishonest post, and you continue to be a lying dog.

@roger,
I'm not exactly sure how I pulled a post between your first post and your second one. My last post on Wed is listed at 8:12AM just before I left for work trip. Then I didn't post until Fri AM. I am unclear how I could have deleted a post at 11:20 on Wed since I didn't make one and wasn't anywhere where I could have posted.

Several People Shot Outside Empire State Building
Friday, August 24, 2012 - 09:30 AM

New York City officials say several people have been shot outside the Empire State Building and that the gunman is dead.

City police say three or four civilians have been wounded in the Friday morning shooting and that the shooter is dead.

A fire department spokesman says it received a call about the shooting just after at 9 a.m. Friday and that emergency units were on the scene within minutes.

The spokesman had no information about how many people were wounded or their conditions.

The shooting occurred at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Most of the victims in this shooting were shot by police. This is a result of a cultural proclivity in 21st century America. The anti gun crowd has managed to impress it in the minds of a large portion of our population that guns are evil and are capable of self initiated action and are likely at any moment to go out in the street and begin killing innocent people. It is a result of a subconscious notion that guns kill people and are evil. Of course this is simply a subconscious phobia. Guns don't kill anything In fact guns are inanimate objects people kill people. in the case of this New York Incident it was the shooter and the police who shot and killed people. The problem with many police departments today is that the officers don't actually spend any real time training with their firearms. To most or many officers the gun they have to carry is just another piece of equipment they have to hang on their belt like the flash light and the hand cuffs. And because of this inherent idea brainwashed into society that guns are bad there s a tendency to avoid handling and or use of their gun unless absolutely required to.. The shootings in New York are perfect examples of this phenomenon in action.

Any kind of even marginally proper training teaches you that you always have to be aware of what's behind your intended target. is there a chance your shot can or will go through to strike anyone standing behind the object of your action. Clearly this is NOT what happened with the police who immediately began arriving at the scene after the initial shots were fired. Of course it also maters to a surprising degree if you can actually hit what you aim at. Un fortunately too many people have this TV idea of guns and think shooting is as simple as point and pull the trigger. in other words too many people are staggeringly stupid and should by no means be allowed to handle firearms. unsupervised.

I spoke about this idea that pervades America today there was a time in America when this was not true. there was a time when most households had guns and many people either hunted or took part in shooting sports In fact there was a time when riflery was taught in high school and kids would bring their rifles to school with them. All of course done responsibly because people who are raised around guns are brought up understanding that there are responsibilities associated with a gun. people understood inherently that guns can cause terrible damage to you or your friends. Treat them carefully and with proper caution.

And their bullets would have magically stopped after hitting their intended target. Sure. I'll bet you go unicorn hunting too.

9 mm bullets are not rifle bullets and a human body would either stop or greatly slow such a round down.

That must explain why 16 bullets were fired, the target was hit 10 times and yet 9 other people were wounded.

I wonder if you people know the first thing about gun safety sometimes. No, really, the bullet will stop when I want it to just because I want it to.

Are you suggesting that the bystanders who were hit, were hit by bullets that passed through the intended target?

That's pretty unlikely. Hollowpoints are pretty good at not passing through people.

Actually hollow points are not as good as you might thing at not passing through A hollow point bullet relies on its velocity to expand the nose of the bullet In a pistol round the velocity just isn't that great. It is very common for hollow point bullets to actually cut a circular divot or plug the size of the cavity in the nose of the bullet and then carry that with the bullet until the bullet has expended all of its energy.

That being said, modern bullets, as in the last 10 years have gotten a lot better at expanding. Still they usually fragment leaving small pieces or petals in their wake and the base or core goes on to exit the victim.
