About time, slacker.

But seriously, congrats. Last time I was out of work, my stomach was tied
in knots the whole time. Nothing like an income coming in to ease the
mind (and gut). I hope it's something you'll enjoy doing.

Good God no, I don't want to screw the pooch now!

I'm gonna carry some nail clippers so I can nip them in the bud if they start to crop up.

As it is, the only reason I got the job was that I was wearing both undereye concealer and mascara.
Oh, and I forgot, I actually curled my eyelashes.

@chai2,
Does the name Fugro become involved in your endeavors? Im happy for you. If youre going to be writing quals and proposals, I think you will do well. I say that from just taking in your clever writing style.

You dont need luck, you make luck.

Oh no, it's not Fugro farmer. That was just a temp position from a while back, and I was curious about them.

Wishing you the best for your first day, chai.
Let us know how it went, if you're not too pooped when you get home tonight.

@roger,
One of the things I liked best....no drama.

And I can tell that wouldn't be tolerated.
No divas, no "I'm having a bad day, so everyone has to walk around eggshells."

@chai2,
if you haven't done so already, be sure to find out your company's policy on attendance, call offs, sick leave and the like. i don't know if it'll do you any good, but in my experience, these seem to be the areas of a company that a typical employee is most educated

alright, that really was an unrelated and unsolicited rant. anyway...

Congrats chai! Glad you like it.

@thack45,
Good thought. And while she's at it, it is always advisable to inquire about the company's internet pornography policy.

I don't do calls offs, and in the last 10 years I've probably taken 4 sick days.

@chai2,
I admit I don't know you well chai, but that doesn't really surprise me. In fact, I find it hard to imagine anyone who regularly contributes to this site not taking their work life seriously.

@thack45,
i can tell you thats true.
sheesh.. i cant even get her free for lunch sometimes. If I had a business, she would be the kind of person I would WAIT to have walk into my office to hire. It isnt that she just takes the job seriously, it is that she has that ability to be flexible and accommodating to everything with out being demeaning, rude or with out a complaint ( of course I am explaining it WAAYY too simply..)
. Thats not something that is easy to come by in an employee
