Ahhhh..."the majority of Americans!"

You know the views of the majority of Americans, I suppose?

Yes, he does. He spoke with more than half of Americans just yesterday and they all agreed with him.

90 million taxpayers will receive an average of 1000 dollars in tax relief as a result of my jobs program.

Clintons fuzz words were "sexual relations".

Bush's fuzz word was "average".

Both statements were deceptive.
Clinton said it once.
Bush repeated it dozens of times.
Clinton's lie did not screw the country.
Bush's lie did.

Go and read the US Economy thread and explain to me how the Bush tax cut has screwed the country exactly...

OK I found this in the US economy thread Link The full article is worth reading.
Quote:
Why, then, do we face the prospect of huge deficits as far
as the eye can see? Part of the answer is the surge in
defense and homeland security spending. The main reason for
deficits, however, is that revenues have plunged. Federal
tax receipts as a share of national income are now at their
lowest level since 1950.

Of course, most people don't feel that their taxes have
fallen sharply. And they're right: taxes that fall mainly
on middle-income Americans, like the payroll tax, are still
near historic highs. The decline in revenue has come almost
entirely from taxes that are mostly paid by the richest 5
percent of families: the personal income tax and the
corporate profits tax. These taxes combined now take a
smaller share of national income than in any year since
World War II.

I notice that you did not dispute the lie (deceit).

Don't take King seriously, Montana.

In any case, she does much more to undermine the issues she champions than to further them.

I'm encouraging her to speak up on everything --- and as often as possible.

(If you were wondering about the wording of that last sentence -- I'm encouraging her a often as possible -- and I want her to speak up as often as possible.)

My spelling and grammar leaves a lot to be desired too, that is one reason I like this forum, it has spellcheck.

Having said that, I can't disagree with you more if I tried. Of course the economy is getting better. He gave tax giveaways to the corporations who in turn laid off and just plain let go most of the employees, then they are exporting their companies so that they get cheap labor and then they make a profit that shows up in the stock market and now the selected president can claim, "the economy is improving". Meanwhile everyday working families are starting to suffer and to make matter worse their unemployment benefits are run out. He is also wanting to cut off overtime for the first responders, you know the firemen who are our heroes that Bush got his photo op with after 9/11. He has to do that because the deficit has blown so out of control that he has to do something.

As for the much touted prescription drug benefit-another phoney bolongny con job. It is a boon to the insurance companies and the poor people in America are one again going to suffer for it. This is a trick to eventually get rid of medicare. Pretty soon it will be a non issue because they will not be any money to fund medicare or even the military to fight wars.

As for his supposed moral values, this is kind of low blow, but if he is such a good moral example, why are his own children having such problems in that area? In the Bible if you want to be an elder you have to keep your own house in order, so would not the same apply for the nation? (Personally I don't think religious or morals have anything to do with leadership of a country but just speaking from your own logic.)

I have to ask; Is it a Republican conspiracy or is it just a Bush conspriracy theory when you say things like "This is a trick to eventually get rid of medicare." and "He gave tax giveaways to the corporations who in turn laid off and just plain let go most of the employees, then they are exporting their companies so that they get cheap labor and then they make a profit that shows up in the stock market and now the selected president can claim, "the economy is improving". "?

I am really curious because a lot of these things were happening while the Democrats were holding office.

Um, I must have missed the job losses under the Clinton Administration, I know we have to date lost about two million (with a M for McGentrix) under Bush, but how big was the job deficit during Bill and Al's time?

Revel's right about the drug benefit law. With a pricetag of 400 Billion (with a B for bodacious benefit to the drug companies) George's conservatives in Congress had to hold their noses while voting yes, (don't want to increase the government's influence on the private sector even if it means older Americans have to go to Canada to buy their life sustaining medicines.... protect the unborn.....tough luck for the elderly) but now it comes out that the real pricetag is more like 530 Billion (what's the P/E for GlaxoSmithKline?) and the deficit may reach a Trillion (with a T which stands for truth a concept of which this administration apparently has no knowledge.
